“Too good to be true”
We had a great week's holiday at L'Aigle des Neiges. Vald D'Isere is a beautiful village and hotels like this make it a place to want to come back. Considering how reasonable the rates are, we were surprised by the attention to detail. The staff were extremely helpful and professional from restaurant bookings to arranging taxis and giving detailed directions. We were staying in a superior bedroom on the fourth floor, the rooms are very cozy and a good size, which made it a nice treat when it was snowing and impossible to spend the day on slopes. Also the fact that the rooms get serviced not once but twice a day is a nice touch. There's live music every evening in the bar which makes for great atmosphere for a pre-dinner drink. The location could not be better, you are up the road from the main bus station and 2 min walk to the slopes. It is basically in the heart of the village but not a noisy part. Very reasonable spa rates and quite a high standard, the spa next door at Brussel's is twice as expensive but a more or less the same experience. If you are considering to book, just keep in mind that this is a 4 star not 5, i think with this hotel a lot of people forget about that. Happy holidays!
“Great Hotel and Great Ski Resort”
We have just returned from Val d`isere last week (April 09) and we had a lovely time. Fantastic ski resort.....all you could want. This was a great hotel......from arrival to departure the staff could not have done more. It was comfortable, relaxing, good breakfast and a fab bar atmosphere on an evening. We would definitely go back.
“Great Hotel, Great Location”
A wonderful hotel, in a perfect location - staff were great and always happy and attentive. Couldn't recommend enough. Also great spa which eases the aches and pains after a hard days skiing.
“Excellent hotel right in the heart of the town”
Having read previous reviews I was sceptical, however any fears were quickly deminished. The Hotel has recently been refurbished and was immaculate throughout. The rooms are a good size and clean. There is a nightly maid service to turn down the beds, draw the curtains and leave a weather forecast card. There is a bar which has live music entertaintainment in the evenings. Breakfast is good with excellent choices of both hot and cold food. The ski shop and spa are very good with helpful staff who all speak good english. The hotel is located perfectly for all the lifts to the slopes which are just 5 minutes walk away. There were 7 of us on this trip all staying at the hotel. We would all recommend it to our friends and family.
“Would love to visit again”
It was a great hotel. The location was perfect and the service was excellent. The hotel room (decor and size wise) was not at par with other four star hotels I have stayed in, but it was clean enough and comfortable. The reception was useful, concierege was helpful. The mid range restaurant served really good food - try the duck meat and potato pie, as well as the chocolate cake. The more expensive restaurant had yummy foie gras but the neither my husband not I were happy with our main courses. The spa was nice, we enjoyed our time in the hot tub as well as our massages. The staff were friendly and knowledgable, and they were flexible. The hotel doesn't serve lunch, but they recommended a really good cafe half a block away, I think the name was Boubou. A local place with a lot of local regulars, I really liked the place. Cheap food, good people watching.
“Hotel Aigle des neiges”
Great location, very good service especially for Ski-ers. Own Car Parking a bonus. 18 Euros per head for Breakfast was excessive. Only complaint as told to the Management was the excessive noise from Lorry deliveries from 6am immediately below our 1st Floor Bedroom window.. this is unacceptable in a 4 * hotel and paying for a " Superior Room". Otherwise---Excellent but with the proviso above.
“Comfortable and central”
Great location, very central and near to slopes. Our room was a bit small but quite comfortable and the bathroom was good. Young staff were very attentive and helpful - at reception, in the restaurants and the ski store. A pity that the pool was closed when we visited, but in theory the pool and sauna were a plus. Restaurants and bar areas were styish and inviting - though prices were on the high side. Overall a very enjoyable stay; if you're looking for a better than average hotel in the centre of Val d'Isere, this is a good choice.
