“Top marks for the Jaz Belvedere, would go back in a heart beat.”
Everything about this hotel is a winner. There are so many good points about the hotel, so I'm going to almost bullet point the info. It's maintenance is of the highest standard, the grounds are kept beautifully. Beach and 3 pools set in front of the hotel are lovely, its bliss to have your own private sandy beach and not have to treck out everyday to get to one. We found the use of sauna, jacuzzi and steam room a real luxury, and were thrilled to find they were all inclusive of the price. The staff are extremely friendly and can't help you enough, nothing is too much trouble. Meal times were a highlight, lots of choice of tasty, healthy freshly prepared food of which the menu was changed daily to give variety, also the local spirits inc rum, vodka, gin, whisky, and tequila offered in with the price were good, and no skimping with the measures either. Classes were provided daily by the entertainment team e.g. aqua gym, stretching, salsa, they were very good, and great to get you off the sun-lounger for half an hour and work off a meal or 2!. Our rooms were kept beautifully clean daily, clean towels left and shampoos, soap, and shower caps, room keeping even made animals out of the towels on our beds and put petals on them, lovely touch. I would recommend this hotel to all age groups, a relaxed, charming hotel. Top marks all round.
“Will most certainly be returning!”
I had a fantastic week at the Sol y Mar Belvedere Hotel in Sharm El Sheik. I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and if I needed anything nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotel was of a very high standard and this made my first visit to Egypt, Sharm El Sheik very memorable. I will definately be returning very soon.
“Still an excellent hotel”
This was our second visit to the hotel. we went 2 years ago and again we had a fantastic time. Everything was clean and well looked after. The food was superb, with plenty of choice. Not just italian as said in some of the other reviews. There was something for everybody. Yes, the animation is Italian and they do ignore you if you're not italian, but that is no reason to complain. We just did our own thing , and having been there 2 years ago knew exactly what it was like. This time round we used the spa and had some massages. Very relaxing and enjoyable and they did point out my husbands bad back and helped that out. The saunas were not as small as suggested in another review. We have used smaller ones. We liked our first visit so much that we came back and again we not disappointed and no doubt we shall be back again. Lovely hotel, Lovely staff, good food and drinks and a lovely setting
“Fantastic hotel, set in superb surroundings.”
The hotel was everything you would expect from a 5* hotel. However, it is predominantly booked by Italian and Russian holiday makers and therefore there are no English clubs or activities for children or adults. The on site holiday reps are from "Bravo" and Italian, so all trips etc once again are in Italian. Good news food wise for the children though, plenty of pizza and pasta!
“Really nice place”
We had a fantastic time. Just rught to chill out in the sun.Although there were a lot of Italians and Russians we didn't find them rude at all. The staff were all lovely especially when they found out we were english. The food and drinks were excellent. If you couldn't find something suitable to eat then you must be a very very fussy eater. We counted up the desserts one night. There was a choice of 24 cakes plus fresh fruit. The hotel is out on it's own. The shuttle bus to Naama Bay takes about 20 minutes, so don't expect to have a walk into town. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the satellite tv had a couple of film channels so if you fancied watching a film you could. All in all it was perfect for us.Younger livelier couples or families with teenage children might find it a bit quiet in which case they need to stay actually in Naama Bay which is busy and more commercialised
“Met all our expectations”
My wife and I visited this hotel between 6 and 13 January for a winter break to spend some lazy days in the sunshine and catch up on some reading on the beach. It met all our expectations. As noted by other who have been there this hotel caters mainly for Italians so the entertainment and some of the food was biased towards them. But that was no problem. The Italian reps were very friendly and when they found out we were English they were keen to practice their English on us. So did a number of the waiters who had some knowledge of English. In January the hotel was less than half full which was nice but there was a full programme on "Animation" ~ fun and games led by the Italian rep crew. There were times when the entertainment music was very noisy which was not a problem for us (but the relentless sound might annoy others). Some observations:(i)there is no bath in the room if that is what people like ~ shower only.(ii) beware the step outside the hotel. My wife tripped and fell bruising a wrist and shoulder which was a bad start to our stay. The step is almost invisible especially at night. (iii) if using cash the hotel does not accept sterling so take Euros, US dollars or Egyptian Pounds. The hotel staff really like the British. This hotel is highly recommended for a week's post Christmas break in the sunshine.
“Italian Job”
the hotel was branded as "Villagio Bravo" , The guests were all lovely polite but games/ aerobics/Radio Uno via loudspeaker all day in Italian by pool, in bar, on beach . 5 Italian TV channels. Staff great. Buffet food good. Drinks good, generous portions, capucinno, patisserie, could have been in Italy, not a 5 star hotel compare to UK.US.Italy. Not luxury rooms.
“Very good.”
We couldn't fault the service of the staff at the hotel. Very helpful and friendly and loved us being English, which is a refreshing change... (there were mostly Italians and Russians staying at the hotel, who were rather rude and ignorant!) The only things to have a bit of a whinge about were the service in the restaurant - the waiters were a little too keen, often whisking our plates etc away when we hadn't finished eating. It is a buffet service for all the meals and we often got pushed out of the way by the other guests in thier rush to get food...You are issued with an orange all inclusive wrist band at the beginning of the holiday. The local wines and beers are good and the measures for spirits are rather substantial! The music around the pool and beach is rather loud, a bit like a holiday camp, Italian games, aerobics and other activities throughout the day, the only quiet time being before 9.30am and over lunch. Would have been more relaxing without it, but didn't spoil things too much. Overall a lovely hotel, would definitely go back.
“Fantastic stay”
I went to the belvedere with my boyfriend and two friends! We had a fab time relaxing in the beautiful weather. The staff were so eager to please and be of assistance at all times, which was lovely but sometimes a little too much - but you really can't complain! The food was lovely with so much to choose from. You always saw staff cleaning and tidying - the place was imacculate. The entertainment wasn't amazing though as it was all in Italian - including the evening shows but it didn't stop us from having a fab time. We luckily went when the hotel was only 23% full so we had the hotel pretty much to ourselves. i can imagine that it gets extremely crowded in the Summer so I would say going in the quiet months is perfect!
“Best Vacation EVER!!!!!”
I have stayed in hotels around the world and no other place compares to this. The service is excellent. Every staff member greets you with "CIAO!" and a smile. Food is excellent and if you are fortunate enough to get an ocean or pool view you are in for one magnificent view. I felt like royalty everywhere I went. The snorkelling trip was cheap but as good as they get. Entertainment at every turn. Excellent English and Italian communication. All that and FREE DRINKS!!! I am already planning my next trip.
