“Great resort”
Had a great time at the pelican. Beach was great and where most time was spent, cute bars in walking distance. Only downside is far away from the gourmet restaurant areas, much older crowd at the pelican.
“big resort”
this resort is large and offers lots to do. simpson bay area is convenient with restaurants and night life. shuttle service to town - hardly need the rental car.
“Very impressed”
For the price, the hotel was definitely worth it. The hotel had a lot of places to hang around there. Absolutely would love to go back.
“fantastic”
the htel was very clean, everything on the grounds was beautiful, and the people couldnt have been nicer
“Repeat Vist”
I've been to St. Maarten countless times since 1986 and seem to enjoy the Pelican the best. The staf is far better than the other places I've stayed and is the biggest reason I perfer this place over others on the island.
“Good hotel and location”
Staff is overall friendly although they will try to sell you timeshares when you check in (but you can say no as you enjoy your free drink, no big deal). Even though we got there before 1pm, they let us check in and take our things to our room (which was being cleaned at the time). The on-site grocery store is a great convenience and prices are reasonable. The on-site french bakery is also good. Not the nicest beach on the island (be sure to check out Orient) but definitely a great place to relax. A big plus is easy access to boating trips since they are on the Simpson Bay Marina. Trips offered by the hotel are also a great value (free bus to Phillipsburg), inexpensive tour of french beaches. They seemed to throw in free daily housekeeping on our room as well. Lots of restaurants are within walking distance on the main road in Simpson Bay. Overall, a great hotel for the money.
“Sunset over the caribbean...”
We have just returned from this resort and are already planning our trip for next year! It was all much better than we expected, with large, very clean and well equipped studios. Ours had views of the sea from two sides and was surrounded by beautiful flowering trees and plants. We could sit on our terrace and watch the sunset over the sea! The resort is all very clean and well maintained, with several lovely pools. The beach is small but clean and safe. The whole resort is very safe with security guards 24 hours a day checking who is coming in. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Clean beach towels and complimentary newspapers were available daily and our studio was cleaned daily too. We took a trip from the hotel marina on a sailing catamaran to Anguilla - don't miss it!
“Beautiful views”
We really thought the place was very nice, very clean and well taken care of. The only downside to it was they did not have elevators and we both have bad backs and we were on the second floor and had to walk up 23 steps to get to our room, which was a struggle for me. The view from our room was spectacular. I would go back but this time I would ask for ground floor.
“Nice & Convenient”
I was impressed with the resort. Pools and beach area were very nice. The resort had a number of offerings...small grocery store, casino, restaurants, free shuttle to downtown, etc. This is particularly convenient for those who do not rent a car. My only complaint was that we thought we would have a king bed--it was one double in our room. Otherwise, room was very nice, complete with kitchen.
“Great Time”
My wife and I went to the Pelican for the second time and had a blast! Rooms were nice, people friendly, grounds immaculate. Go see Marco at the beach bar!!!
