“Loved staying at Tradewinds Sandpiper”
This hotel has a strong customer service focus - like staying with friends - every request handled quickly and efficiently - not a party hotel, caters to families and couples - I like that there is a separate adult pool and hot tub - close to everything on the Beach. Suites are large - basically 1 bedroom apartments - living room, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom done in sunny colours. Well maintained property. You can stay here and access the facilities of the bigger sister property Tradewinds Grand down the street.. Lots of amenities for those that like them and right on the beach
“Awesome Hotel”
My family had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are lots of activities for the whole family. The hotel is quieter than the Tradewinds Island Grand (which is only steps away down the beach). We were able to enjoy all of the facilities and activities at the Island Grand and then come back to the Sandpiper for peace and quiet. We stayed in a suite with a small kitchen which is essential for us. It allowed us to eat breakfast & lunch in our room. This is great with older kids - they can sleep in and eat when they get up!
“Great Place”
The hotel was great and having access the the Island Grand was awesome. Calling the chairs cabanas was kind of odd but the cabana did the job. Overall very satisified. Definitely would return
“Fantastic Visit at the Tradewinds”
We were going to join some friends that were staying at the "Don" but they were completely booked. We were referred to Tradewinds by a friend. It was a great stay. Hotel was nice, great views, courteous staff, clean room and priced fair for a hotel on the beach. We were about 2 miles north of the rest of our group but they found themselves joining us the whole trip. There are 2 fun bars within walking distance of the Tradewinds. It was such a great time. I just wish I could remember the names of the those 2 bars.
“Great Stay”
I was on a trip with 3 of my buddies. We are all between 25 and 28. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the beach bar next door, Jimmy B's. I will be staying here again if I ever get back to St. Pete.
“Great Family Vacation”
The Tradewinds Sandpiper Hotel was great! It was very affordable and they even gav us an upgrade when we checked in. Everything has been upgraded and remodeled. When you are a registered guest you can use all the amenities of their sister hotel which is a very short walk down the beach including pools, restaurants, bars, water slide, and kids activity center. I woul ddefinately reccomend this hotel for families.
“Very Relaxing...which was exactly what I needed!”
The staff was very nice, especially the cabana guys!! The only negatives are I wish the beds were a little softer and wish the thread count was a little higher. But overall I really enjoyed my stay!

first time user of expedia, I was skeptical, haven't had a vacation in 3 years and had never been to St Pete. This hotel was great. I highly recommend it. the location was perfect, the service and hospitality another plus. It was just the place we were looking for. The value of the hotel for the money was above and beyond.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Sandpiper. We had a suite overlooking adult swimming pool. Everything was newly remodeled. The staff were very friendly, pool was great, beach was great, drinks were great, food was ok. We had a great stay - would definately return.
“stay here at least once a year”
Its a great place to stay. You can tell they spent some money on updating the hotel and the staff is pleasant no matter who you run into..
