“Magical.....A unique and beautiful hotel......”
My sister and I had an overnight stay in the New Hall hotel & Spa, purely to relax and be pampered and we weren't dissapointed...... We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in such a unique hotel..... A real treat..... We will definately be back......
“Really good hotel - nice to get away from bigger chains”
Had a really comfortable stay here in between 2days at the Birmingham NEC. Comfortable, really good food and a very pleasant setting to allow you space to contemplate away from The usual hustle and bustle of business chain hotels! Plus it worked out a bit cheaper for much more!
“Attentive and muchios impressed”
Got off to a difficult start when the room we were given wasn't what I booked but the Manager resolved matters quickly and put us in the Sirius which is a stunning suite - bit like a big loft conversion with rustic beams and arches over a large area about 3-4x as big as your average master bedroom. Food (we had afternoon tea and an evening meal) was excellent. After a very difficult week, this was our light at the end of the tunnel and the New Hall took care of everything which they weren't necessarily responsibile for, but they stepped up which we were grateful for. And it wasn't just because we said something - all the staff were very attentive and friendly to all guests and it made for a very enjoyable stay such that we'll definitely return.

“Highly recommended”
This is simply an outstanding hotel. I was not sure before arriving because of its location but it has ample grounds and is incredibly beautiful. The staff are courteous and helpful without fail and will provide what you need. The food is exceptional and the lounge areas are comfortable. It was a little cool in some areas but it was 1degree outside and it is a very old building. Having said that they lit fires when asked. The basic room was comfortable and had everything as expected. We are used to staying at 5 star country house hotels and this is among the best!

Lovely weekend, food and accommodation was superb. Gym and pool has been updated in last two years and has excellent equipment in it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at New Hall. The grounds are beautiful as was our room that was situated in the attic directly above the moat. Would have loved to try out some spa treatments but there was no availability despite trying to book 3 weeks in advance! We have stayed in several Handpicked hotels and would definitely recommend this one.

“Room for improvement”
For a hotel of this standard I was disappointed. Architecturally pleasing but interesting architecture doesn't help service. Chap on reception was fine but other staff not so good. They were polite and friendly but not very proactive when you need them to do stuff. Room cleanliness OK but when I picked up hotel brochure off the desk there was a lot of dust underneath. One bulb in the wall lights was not working and it wasn't replaced. My room (a suite) was tired and bathroom small and tired looking. Bath robes well worn and raggedy, frayed edges-ready to be replaced. I understand some rooms have been refurbished but not sure how far through the refurbishment they are. No spa info in the room. I asked for this 2 or 3 times, eventually they did get the spa staff to call me so I could book a treatment. Spa staff were friendly. Another guest complained that breakfast finished at 10am when the room information states 10.30am Had breakfast in bed both mornings, which was OK but nothing to write home about. If you want more than one sausage you have to say so on the breakfast form otherwise you get one and one only! Only one restaurant operating as other closed for decoration. Menu is OK but uninspiring, maybe the other, when it reopens might have more interesting food. To conclude this had the architecture of a hotel that could be fabulous but really is operating with a 3 star mentality.
