“Great Experience”
Terrific room with great service and help full staff. Breakfast was excellent and service very good. Price was high..
“Gorgeous boutique hotel”
Beautiful hotel in good location with charming staff. Would have liked a bath robe and coffee making kit but otherwise an excellent stay.
“So Friendly!”
We were greeted so warmly by the hotel manager. He arranged parking for us, drew us maps of attractions to see, and made a special effort to seek us out one evening to remind us that daylight savings time was beginning & to change our clocks. (We never would have known because it didn't coincide with the U.S. change). The bartender/barrista/ restaurant manager (1 person who seemed to work round the clock) was also so warm, friendly, and helpful. Also, the hotel restaurant was very good.
“World-class hotel”
My partner and I are demanding travelers, so it means something when we say without hesitation that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable andthe bathroom was excellent. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the hotel staff were unfailingly willing to help. Breakfast was a delight each morning - abundant and high quality food. The room was expensive, but worth the price. We had trouble getting the hotel wireless connection to work with my iPad, but that was a problem we encountered all over Sicily, and the hotel staff tried to help (albeit unsuccessfully).
“Impressive hotel - would recommend”
Overall: Algila hotel is lovely and I doubt you will be disappointed. Comparing to other 4 stars we saw, it easily looked the best although without staying at the others, its not a completely fair comparison. Positives: 1. The overall presentation of the building, inside and out, and the rooms - bedrooms as well as dining/breakfast and halls 2. Inclusive buffet breakfast with small additional prepared on-demand items was also great 3. Staff were always friendly, polite and helpful in all aspects from local information to visiting other places 4. It's also in a nice location, slightly away from the main downtown, but since the place is small, this is really just a 5 min walk and means it is nice and quiet with a good view of the sea Faults: 1. In-room internet connection is terribly slow and prone to requiring re-connection. this might be an issue with infrastructure, not really resolveable by the hotel but still a point to note if you are expecting to use this more than just lightly 2. There is no communal outside space. This is a real shame as whilst one of the suites has a jacuzzi and patio, if you're not in that room, you don't have anywhere to go. On a positive, all rooms appear to have small balconies you can sit out on
“Lovely New Hotel”
The name says it--it is a very charming hotel. Interesting furniture, painted tile bathrooms. Ask for a room with a rain shower.
“Charming reception”
We were very impressed with the Algila. Its major asset are the staff, particularly the charming and ever helpful reception staff. The hotel is tastefully decorated and furnished and always clean and immaculate throughout. Our room, a Junior Suite with a sea view, was very comfortable, especially the bed. There is a good choice of food at breakfast with a cold buffet and cooked food available to order. The location is good within a short walking distance of all the local Ortigia attractions. My only reservation would be the lack of outdoor seating space at the hotel unless you are in the Executive Double which has its own roof terrace.
“Great stay”
The hotel was quite newly renovated, with interesting artifacts. The rooms clean and nicely furnished. The breakfast was good and offered a cooked breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. The hotel is in easy walking distance of restaurants and points of interest, and is across the road from the sea. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only negative comment would be it is a little noisy, with street noise, especially the scooters.
“Great service”
This is a beautiful hotel, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Siracusa, Sicily. The breakfasts were fantastic, providing many healthful and delicious choices. And the service was outstanding, particularly from the folks at the front desk -- knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and courteous.
“Wonderful hotel in Sicily”
This hotel has been recently renovated, and is very charming and comfortable, in a great location. Good value for the price.
