Very disappointing...rooms nothing like in photos
Very disappointed overall. Photos of rooms on this site are completely misleading. They do not look onto the pool. The mattress was lumpy and thin, the curtains did not keep out the light very much so woke early. Not helped by room facing temple outside, with loud music at 6am even though I requested a quiet room. Breakfast was okay, but, overall, way worse than I expected from web-site and Sterling brand. I would not recommend and would not stay here again (though I recommend nearly all the hotels I have reviewed on this web-site). The pool was okay but area around it not very inviting. The staff were using it to play a game of cricket, as they seemed to have little else to do, even though some areas could do with a clean. Linen was clean and shower powerful and hot water but that was about all that was good. Find a better option!

Sterling was supposed to be brand you can count on not any more I think. They called me 4 times before checkin to inform there is mandatory grand gala dinner which i need to pay not sure why they coudnt not co-ordinate amongst themselves regarding the same. We stayed one night on Dec 31 night and checked out on Jan 1. Once we checked-in we found the room to be dirty not cleaned properly. Walls were dirty and the room was full of cobwebs. See the images attached. We had asked for iron box during our stay , we even reminded the reception 3 times but they never gave us. They dont have an infant crib present against what hotels.com listing says. Then came the nightmare the mandatary gala dinner, they were blasting the loudspeakers till late night and my infant wasnt able to sleep at all. The next day Jan1 2020 we woke up and wanted to have our breakfast so I went and enquired the timing the mentioned that it was at 7.30am. Given the experience I had so far I went at 8am with a hope that atleast then the breakfast would be ready but again it wasnt and they had it available only at 8.30 or so. Oh yeah I almost forgot the parking situation we had to park the car on the side streets as they dont have enough parking in the front. Overall a terrible experience for the price paid. Its not a 3 star hotel by any means more like a lodge. I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

the resort is OK compared to the other steerling properties. it was a good spot for a single day outing. it would have been nice if the properties had some more activities to entertain guest, may be we were there on off season and the occupancy was low

THE CLEANLINESS - THE FOOD - BASIC BEVERAGES - ALL LACK TOTAL QUALITY FOR THE MONEY CHARGED. NO VALUE FOR THE MONEY PAID AT ALL. VERY BADLY DONE ROOMS- MATTRESSES UNCOMFORTABLE - THE BATHROOM AND TOILET AREA VERY SPARTAN.

Nice place to stay
Sterling Resorts is a very decent place to stay & enjoy your vacation. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. My daughter was very particular about the food and she was happy. The food items are a bit costly but the quantity is a lot. The breakfast spread was pretty good. The entire staff were very friendly and any request was take care immediately. There are a lot of indoor games and they are well maintained. Pool is there but we didn't use it. Overall, we are very happy with the stay.

The accessories in the room as towel etc are not up to the mark and appear to be worn type. The rims are told to have pool view while all the rooms have outside view through window and as the property is developed in the total plot there is no room for any decent view at times it is opening to other property balcony. Somehow the bed was not comfortable. Food is good.

Excellent place to spend a weekend at Yelagiri
This is small hotel located pretty close to Yelagiri town. The property is as such small and can't be called as a resort. There are around 60 rooms and all of them are decently sized and furnished. They have an in-house restaurant and that can be classified as tiny to cater to the needs of guests as it has about 10 tables only. Apart from the size, the experience is good, well trained staff, well maintained facility, good food etc., The lake, park and other fun activities around 2 kms from this place. Considering Yelagiri it self to be very small semi-hill station, this place is great

Swimming pool had sharp tiles which created cut in my daughter's leg. This needs immediate attention.

Expensive for a 6k per night
We stayed here for 2 nights . 26th-28th Jan . I had booked 2 rooms for 2 families . Rooms were spacious and decor is good (no rugs/ carpets on floor though, can get cold to walk bare feet in room) . Toiletries were provided in the bathroom, however no hot water in tap for both the days of our stay and hot water was provided in bucket. For a 6k per night tariff this was disappointing. Food in the restaurant is good but rates are steep. 945INR for lunch n dinner per person. Mostly the main dishes are in the range of 275-350 per dish on average. Breakfast was complimentary and had lot of variety for Vegeterians for non vegeterians only eggs/omelette were available no bacon/ham/sausages. The 1st day of our stay the paneer in the lunch was stale n tasted sour, the same was informed to the stewards. Other than that rest all the meals were good. restaurant staff is prompt in meeeting your requests specially Arun,ruban, kreethika and chef Sandeep. Check in and check out was smooth. Housekeeping needs to be better . Takes time for everything you ask for. I had asked for a hair dryer and it took a reminder call and a wait of 20 minutes before the request was met, by that time half of my hair had dried. On 2nd occasion my husband had asked for a shaving kit,took time and a reminder call again. The bathroom towels look worn out .My friends room had a torn bathroom towel. The sales person trying to sell membership quoted members hv higher privilege than non members even for hot water..huh

Different Name and new location
I would give a rating of 4 only because there was still construction work in progress around the hotel. This seemed to be a new location and in a new name of Sterling Marigold. The name on expedia does not relect the new name. There were some theething issues with a few things, but overall the hotel was good and the facilities were comfortable. Some of the details about the hotel specified here are incorrect as it is in a new location . The contact phone number is incorrect and it was very difficult to track down the right number and contact. and there is no walking trail or grounds around the hotel.
