“great stay in torquay”

the staff at the grosvenor very welcoming & helpful. room very clean,quiet,roomy plenty hot water. restaurant clean ample portions of food staff helpful. evening entertainment enjoyable,lounge & bar nice and relaxing. parking excellent and plenty of it.

“It was okay”

The hotel staff were pleasant and friendly and my only real complaint was that the windows were so old that a breeze came through them at night and also let the noise through. There were parties on two of the nights we stayed and we were kept up on the first night listening to drunks outside our window which overlooked the car park.

“Noisy.”

The staff were very friendly albeit the bar area seemed a bit claustrophobic. The bed was too small and I am only 5'11. The walls were paper thin - I was kept awake by the guy next door snoring.

“Used to be classy 20 years ago”

As we got a good deal through Expedia, my disappointment was not too big. However, the overall condition of this hotel does not justify the prices. We had a room facing the car park and entrance - of course no double-glazed windows. We could here people upstairs walking about. No, there are other hotels out there that offer more for less. This hotel is in desperate need of a proper renovation.
