“Excellent Avignon Hotel”
We were very impressed with the location of the hotel, the clenliness, the spaceousness of the room and the comfort level. The staff were very friendly and polite and were not at all intrusive. The only down side was a lack of kettle in the room but we had brought a travel kettle with us or you could use the downstairs vending machine and the shortage of replacement toilet rolls.
“Hotel Danieli”
The Hotel Danieli is in an older building, near the center of Avignon. It does NOT have a lift (elevator). The hotel staff is pleasant, and very accommodating. The location was convenient to all points of interest and transportation.
“Good Not Great Hotel in Avignon”
The hotel Danieli in Avignon was one of the nicer hotels we stayed at in France and a good value. The location was perfect - just between the train station and the main attraction of town, the Papal Palace. The desk clerks on nights and weekends were somewhat clueless and could not find something as simple as an extra pillow, but spoke English. The day staff were very good - one lady made several phone calls on our behalf to obtain a coveted dinner reservation for us. The decor was stylish, but not nearly as nicely lit as the photos indicate. There was a peculiar lack of attention to detail; we had to break into the janitor's closet to get a roll of toilet paper and there was no waste basket, despite a politely worded sign suggesting that a waste basket was there for our convenience. However, we were very shocked when we came in during the day and found our room in complete disarray as they executed a small construction project in our room, completely without warning or any regard for our belongings which were strewn about. Aside from that faux pas, we were reasonably pleased with the value.
“Refurbished hotel in the centre of Avignon - Great”
The room is pleasant and newly renovated. The location is fantastic. Totally recommended.
“You get what you pay for!!”
This hotel is a bit of a mixed bag. The upsides, it's close to the centre of Avignon, it's clean enough and despite being on a main street it's reasonably quiet and is an excellent base for exploring Avignon and the surrounding area The downsides, the rooms seem a little small, there is no aircon and there are no real hotel services(eg Bar/lounge)to speak of.... The hotel services you can live without as there is so much available outside however the lack of aircon could pose a real problem for some people. During the stay in September the daytime temperatures were ~35C and at night we had to sleep with the windows open. Whilst this resulted in a comfortable sleeping enviroment we did then attract the attention of the Avignon mosquitoes! Summer temperatures are much higher so bear that in mind before you book this hotel. Overall, it's a good budget hotel but do not forget that is what it is
“great location to see historical sites”
This is a pretty basic hotel. It's location was incredible for walking tours, food and entertainment.
“Not impressed”
Althought, I did not like this hotel, is very centric, close to the restaurants and Palais du Papas
“Not so good I'm afraid”
This is on a main street in Avignon, hard to access and no parking or assistance to drop luggage. Hotel is dark and looks like the building is being refurbished. Rooms very basic, dark and with no information. Toilet stopped working and couldn't be fixed. towels minimal and beds uncomfortable and basic. Breakfast 9 euros extra and wasn't that good. This hotel either needs a really good refurb or to drop it's prices to recognise it's pretty down market
