“Top quality hotel, would recommend strongly to anyone”
A truly classy hotel, a little way from the central Venice area but none the worse for being so - the Grand Canal water ferries run from 5 minutes away on a regular basis. Service from arrival to departure was excellent. Room decor and comfort superb and the small canal-side balcony was a memorable location for an evening drink or breakfast.
“A perfect stay at the Hotel Canal Grande”
The Hotel Canal Grande is a real gem in Venice. It was redecorated beautifully, the combination of antique and modern elements mirrors excellent taste. Its situation being very close to the parking lots as well as the main station is ideal. You can reach the hotel either by vaporetto or walk there within five minutes. All the staff are openhearted and speak several languages. They will love to provide you with useful info about shopping, dining out, cultural events, visiting Murano or other places around the heart of Venice. Breakfast is plentiful, and if you are lucky you can even have it on the tiny terrace above the waters of Canal Grande. We just loved it and will certainly return there as soon as possible!
“Loved this hotel”
Beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I would suggest a water taxi in getting there though. It will be so much easier, they drop you off in front of the hotel. I think the hotel would be a challenge to find taking a reg taxi or bus. Plus you will do a lot of walking lugging your suitcase behind you. There are no cars in Venice, (awesome) so a taxi would drop you at a parking lot, and you will walk the maze to the hotel. Venice is so awesome we loved our visit there. Our room was very comfortable, comfortable bed, we slept well. The room was very clean and nice. The room was beautiful and had free wifi, you just have to get a password from the desk. We really enjoyed our stay.

“Great hotel and location”
We stayed at the Hotel Canal Grande in Venice August 27th through the 29th, 2011. We stayed after reading reviews on trip advisor. We were very happy with our choice. The location is not close to the very touristy area of St. Marks Square but is in a much nicer quieter area. It is still easy to get around by walking or taking the water bus. There are still plenty of shops and restaurants across the street but the noise and crowds are not right by the hotel. The hotel is also close to the bus terminal which was convenient when we were headed to the airport. We could walk there and the bus cost $5 and took you straight to the airport. Private water taxi's cost about $100. The hotel is beautiful, right on the water and the staff was very, very nice. The only complaint i had was a hard bed. Otherwise, it was a perfect choice for us. We would highly recommend the Hotel Canal Grande.
“A jewel on the Canal”
We arrived from the airport by water taxi. We we promptly attended to. Offered a welcome drink from the bar. The room was delicious (no exxageration here) decorated in antique but extremely comfortable textiles. The bathroom was modern and comfortable. New flat screen TVs.(CNN in english) Perfect a/c., wood floors and dark mahogany desks, furniture and closets. Located across the train station on The Scalzi bridge but very quiet. The breakfast was very good and available even though we woke up late. They want to make you feel at home..Every morning we would take the vaporetto (the water bus) which leaves from in front, but across the bridge, down to The Rialto Bridge or to the Piazza. At night my wife and I bought a bottle of wine and sat on the front porch dock or on the side little plaza and enjoyed the breeze and the view. Very romantic.
“Hotel Canal Grande Venice 'Highly Recommended'”
Hotel booked by my Father-in-Law, he chose well this hotel was superb, everything we expected and more. Brilliant staff, accommodation very clean and well maintained. Excellent service from the staff who dealt with the rooms. If you are looking for a quality hotel with excellent service look no further than the Hotel Canal Grande.
“Superb service”
A really great hotel. Made to feel welcome from the very first moment by the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. All speak perfect English (so my Italian was wasted!) and were just so accomodating and pleasant. Brwakfast was lovely outside on the balcony, but there are only two places so it's pot-luck if it's free when you arrive for brekkie. One thing to point out is the marvellous lady who is in charge during breaksfast. She's so friendly and positive despite being the only one serving and helping, and you were never kept waiting. The only issue i had was the pillows were not very comfortable in the room, but this is a very minor point. Highly recommend, and try to get a canal view if possible.
“Grand Accomodations”
The Hotel Canal Grande was everything we expected in a small european hotel and more.A modern hotel with old charm. Our room was off the side street with one room above us. We had to be buzzed into our outer hall way which was a nice security feature, although we didn't feel our safety was ever an issue. The staff were attentive to our every need and made as feel like we were their most important guest. I feel that if we had asked them to jump, they would have asked if ten feet was high enough. We arrived at night by water taxi which was definately the way to go. If we had walked from the train station or bus with all our luggage, don't know if we would have found it in the dark over two small bridges ( which are actually stairways). On our departure day, they volunteered to store our luggage for several hours and arrange for us to share a water taxi with another couple to our cruise ship. The breakfast was delightful and actual made to order egg dishes could have been ordered for a small fee although we found it unneccesary. The Hotel Grande Canal was a delightful way to begin our GRAND VACATION.
“What an Amazing Hotel. Dont stay anywhere else!”
This is an excellent hotel in which we spend 4 amazing nights in Venice. It is perfectly located right next to the Grand Canal and within 5 min walk from the train station. However it is nicely tucked away so that it is not too busy or noisy. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and gave great advice on what to do during our stay. The hotel itself is brand new with very comfortable beds and new interior. The Superior rooms are a little small however this wasn’t a problem. We checked out a lot of other hotels while we were in Venice and decided this was the best one. I am a Management Consultant and therefore spend lots of time in Hotels and this one is in my top 5. I would strongly recommend this hotel and look forward to re-visiting.
