“Would return”
Overall comfortable room, pleasant staff (one exception). Restaurant service very good and friendly staff. Food good and value for money. Location very convenient.
“Sound hotel for the price”
Place has free wireless broadband - big plus Places to sit and relax such as starbucks/costa(?) on site, plus bar, reception, dining area. Surrounding area is nothing special. You need a car to get around also Flat panel TV in room. No vent panels in windows so you have to open the window, pity due to M6 noise
“Visiting the NEC and staying in Birmingham”
The staff were very welcoming and helpful.(10 out of 10) Plenty of disabled parking and easy access. Enjoyed the best breakfast anywhere! and had drinks at the bar, Food at the bar was so-so. We had a food special first night and ate out the next. Good warm atmosphere. During games they offer specials which are great prices.(drinks) The room was pretty good, Although i should of booked the disabled room as the beds were a little hard, TV chanels were average and the room seemed quite clean,Good maid service. Shower was great with loads of pressure, Modern and again very clean. Stayed for 2 nights and fairly close to NEC, About 20-25min Easy driving. Hotel is close to town and various shops etc. I would stay again, Rather than staying down town. Very good value.
“Walsall Village”
This hotel, and the Village chain generally, provide reasonably priced, comfortable rooms. The leisure facilities are very impressive, the catering far less so. No black pudding in the heart of the West Midlands - please! The buffet breakfast suffers from the usual 'cook it all at 6AM and keep it hot so that it dries out nicely' of many chain hotels.
“OK Hotel”
Decent hotel but in the middle of an old insustrial site. Meals far too expensive and rooms need air con. Health club OK but pool full of screaming kids and lifeguards did nothing to stop them diving in despite signs, also steam room was out of order. Breakfast buffet was good especialy as it was included in price.
“Fab hotel cant recommend the restaurant the verve grill at all”
Stayed at this Hotel on Thursday 24th Feb, over all Hotel and facilities fab but restaurant left a lot to be desired. We were a party of 7 booked into the restaurant at 08:00pm. 1st round order of starters out of 7, 2 not available, main meals 2 not available. 1 ordered Tuna, never smelt anything like it, unable to be eaten. chef advises thats they way in comes.... puddings, ordered at the start to make sure we got what we wanted only to be told only 1 of .... someone ordered sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream......guess what no vanilla ice cream so they put chocolate ice cream on instead. No one came to say no vanilla would you prefer ice cream or cream, i am presuming the reason being.......none of that either.
“Promises Much But Delivers Little”
I have to say, I was very impressed by the exterior of the hotel and it's reception, however, that is where the good impressions end. The room itself felt cheaply decorated, and, despite a large television, seemed to lack any warmth. Only one bath towel and one hand towel had been placed in the room, so we had to request more from reception. Having been delayed on the motorway, we looked forward to a coffee in the much advertised Starbucks there, so we ventured to the lobby, only to find that at weekends, it closed at 5. A coffee in the bar was settled upon-a nicely appointed bar, but the coffee wasn't really up to much. The Starbucks offered a fast collection service in the morning, which would be useful to business travellers in the week, but not at weekends, early start or not. No breakfast room service was offered, and so we made our way to the buffet breakfast. Long lines of customers snaked around the restaurant as insufficient food had been cooked and was arriving at the buffet in dribs and drabs. Having located a table, we queued and then had to wait for toast. I returned to the table to find my cutlery and cup AWOL so had to search for a waiter to bring some more. By the time I got to eat my breakfast, it was stone cold. On checking out, I fouund that they had tried to charge me for the room a second time, and then had to stand in a long line at reception to resolve this. All in all, not good value for money, even if you use the pool and gym.
