The room I stayed in was smoking (though I specified non-smoking and that might be more important to some) and they tried to charge me for extra for the room because it showed up as a double room (but I was alone) when I arrived. "We stayed one night at the Grand Hotel before our flight out. Our room was beautiful with a lovely deck. We were in the newer building behind the big building, with views of the pool. The concierge was very helpful in arranging taxis for us, both for a ride to a night market and also to the airport the next morning. We had a great deal of luggage, and the stewards were incredibly kind to transport it to and from our rooms. A wonderful stay and definitely worth it to be at such a beautiful hotel. "
