“Pet-Friendly Hotels Are Hard to Find”

We've stayed several times at the Meander Inn when traveling with our small dog. It's getting hard to find hotels in the northern area of Youngstown that allow pets without outrageous pet charges. There is a grassy area at the rear of the hotel available to walk the dog. The Meander Inn is reasonably clean and maintained. The bath rooms are small but cleand and adequate. It has a good continental breakfast with boiled eggs and hot waffles in the selections. They have a restaurant attached, and there is a great Mexican restaurant close by, just over the bridge over I-80.

“Good for overnight stop over”

Overall the room was clean and nice. The bathroom was a little small and the vent didn't work so it got hot and steamy when showering. The tub didn't drain well and started to fill while showering. The water handle was about to fall off as well. Other than the ice maker being empty 9 times out of 10, it was a very hot weekend though, it is a nice place to stop and spend the night. I basically only needed a place to sleep at night so it was ok but I wouldn't have wanted to be stuck in the room all day or anything.

“Free internet service = no service”

Very poor internet service. Called the front desk and was told to call the internet helpline. 1st call the guy said the system need rebooted on their end, wait 15 mins then try. Waited ½ hr still limited to no service. Called back they were having problems and were working on them, told wait about an hour. Tried to connect 2 hours later still not working. I called back the helpline, and was told they were cleaning up the connection. Needless to say I could not get on the net to do anything. When I checked out told the front desk the problem and that I need the internet for business and to surf the net. I was told sorry!

“Heat must be extra!”

Arrived just before midnight after driving nearly an hour in a snow storm. There is no admittance to the lobby (how welcoming!) and had to stand in the foyer and ring the bell. After the third time, I called the hotel on my cell to ask them to answer the bell! No apologies, no how's the driving...nothing. I was then instructed that to get to my room, I needed to go back outside and come back in a different door. My room was just inside this exit door. Needless to say, the room was ice cold. I had to put a towel at the base of the door to prevent cold air from blowing under the door. To top it off, the coffee pot didn't work! and no coffee in the lobby.Not exactly a professional operation.

“Dirty!”

Sink had not been cleaned. Hair dryer did not work. Bathroom fan did not work. Bed was lumpy. Noisy.

“Overnight stay”

This is not a hotel, you would choose to stay in . Needs updating. The bathroom was tiny and the ceiling was so low. You could hear everything in the next room. The location and parking lot is sketchy.
