The Tryp La Caleta is located right on the well known beach of Playa de Victoria, some 2.5 km (30 minutes on foot) from the historic centre of Cadiz. Enjoy a walk along one of the best urban beaches in Europe or a visit to the old quarter of this ancient city. Two city buses with stops near the hotel will take you directly to the old part of Cadiz. The hotel is a 30 minute drive from Jerez airport and 2.5 km from Cadiz train station and the port. Nearby are several golf courses and the Casino Bahía de Cadiz. The hotel also provides excellent meeting facilities, making it an ideal choice for training courses, conventions and incentives.

“Great Beach Hotel”
The review encompasses the fact that a remodel is nearing completion, but some amount of work is still active. Rates have been reduced accordingly. At the sharply reduced rates, this location merits a 5--at regular rates, a 4 is more appropriate. The overall experience is typical from this higher quality chain. Enjoyed a lovely, remodeled room on the sea view side, friendly service, efficient check-in (even if your Spanish is poor). New rooms have a clean, fresh, modern look with a substantially upgraded bath area. Hotel is situated on a major beach front, but is miles from the old town. However, a bus stop is very close and runs frequently.

“Tryp by the beach in Cadiz”
You can not beat the location. The front desk clerk was kind but somewhat overworked as he was the only one trying to help multiple people. Be SURE to confirm ahead of time that you are confirmed for a non-smoking (or smoking) room before you arrive. After 30+ hours of travel I discovered that they had given away my non-smoking room and had put me on a smoking floor. The property itself is not in dire need of repair but stepping inside reveals an interior that would seem better suited for a three star hotel. If you want a great location and only really need the hotel to grab a few hour's sleep, then this hotel is just fine --again, check that your reservation's smoking preference has been honored before arrival. If you are looking for a high-end property with a more upscale ambiance, then look elsewhere.
“Great location and nice hotel - but no free breakfast”
I liked everything about the hotel except the $20 continental breakfast we got charged on check out. There were no prices listed and the set up was similar to other Spanish hotels so we (wrongly) assumed it was free. It wasn't and it was expensive! It was very misleading - no menu, no prices listed, no waiters, just a person asking our room number which is very similar to other euro free breakfast. I am writing the hotel directly to complain further - I will post an update if they refund us...
