Flavours Restaurant offers an elegant dining experience with contemporary Cape Cuisine. The restaurant has a gentle and homely ambience giving any special occasion understated elegance in a picturesque setting. The restaurant's focus is on bold flavours, celebrating classic, uncomplicated dishes and fresh, clean tastes - best described as a concept of food that is essentially simple, but where flavour always comes first. Flavours Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week and a menu with a variety of dishes which can be paired with our award winning wine list to make any meal extraordinary. The lunch menu consists of light lunch menu items as well as specials which are changed on a daily basis to ensure variety.
The Terrace overlooks breathtaking views of the mountains and Stellenbosch Winelands. A full Bar and Seasonal al fresco Menu is also available. It seats 60 people and is open seven days a week between 11:00 and 19:00, weather permitting.
Our cosy and tastefully decorated lounge and bar, with fireplace, offers one of the most comprehensive collections of Single Malt Whiskies in the country. Light meals are served daily. The bar is open from 11:00 - 23:00, seven days a week.
The Devon Valley Hotel is surrounded by its working vineyard. Taste our award winning SylvanVale Wines in the Cedarwood Lounge and Bar or on the Vineyard Terrace. SylvanVale Wine Tasting takes place daily from 10h00 until 20h00.
Facilities include laundry and dry cleaning services. Secretarial services are available as is a communication centre offering internet access. Free parking is available with 24-hour security including 24-hour medical assistance. A luxury eight-seater vehicle offers transfers for guests to Stellenbosch CBD, Cape Town International Airport and surrounding areas at an additional cost.
Rooms
The Classic Rooms are situated in the historic Cedarwood building and has been tastefully refurbished to reflect the contemporary colonial feel of the hotel. The valley facing rooms each have their own private decks and the north facing rooms open into private courtyards with wonderful views of the vineyards or olive groves.

“Fantastic location”
Two night stay during February, very helpful staff, excellent food & wine. Entertainment each night in the restaurant very interesting. Comfortable rooms with views across the hills, stunning location. Ideal for visiting local vineyards & wine tasting.
“Delightful Devon Valley”
Yet another wonderful time (3rd visit) spent at this lovely hotel. We were upgraded to a Vineyard room which was superb although all the rooms are lovely. The staff are the most helpful and friendliest we have come across in our travels. Meals as always excellent and the wine list is really good.
“Great hotel, fantastic service”
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The service was exceptional and the food was probably the best I had during my trip to South Africa. I would recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Stellenbosch.
“The most relaxing few days in South Africa”
We visited the Devon Valley Hotel by recommendation from a friend and it excided our expectation this was the most relaxing days of our trip. Sit back and unwind enjoy the views and the wine the menu was outstanding a visit is a must
“Away from it all!”
Our 2nd visit to this wonderful hotel. The staff as always very helpful and friendly. Even though major refurbishment was going on it didn't detract from our stay. A delightful hotel in a magnificent setting.
“Wonderfully relaxing place to stay!”
While in South Africa, we stayed four nights at this fabulous hotel and were pleasantly surprised at every turn. The food was exceptional, the rooms ultra modern and luxurious. The views of the valley and vineyards from the rooms were great. The hotel is in the middle of wine conutry and a great base for local tours.
“We long to return”
My wife and I wanted to visit Capetown but we did not want to stay in the city. This hotel was chosen by chance and could not have suited our needs better. It was relaxing and friendly. The service was good and the food excellent. The views from the terrace wonderful. Access to Capetown easy ( 30-40 minutes ). With so much to do and see in and around Stellenbosch we did not have enough time to do it all. So it is without doubt that when we go back to South Africa, and whilst in the Cape, we will be staying here again.
“Comfortable and welcoming.”
Considering that we booked the hotel over the Net and not being quite sure what to expect, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable, clean and uncluttered - albeit somewhat basic. The food was excellent and the service an example to other hotels. It is well placed for the wine region and for Cape Town which is only about 40 mins away. Only criticism is that hotel was difficult to find late at night and directions could have been better. Nevertheless, would happily recommend to other travellers.
“A delightful haven”
The hotel was even better expected. A little bit 'off the beaten track' but the stunning views and quiet location makes up for that. Accommodation and meals excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our wedding anniversary really special. When we return to the Cape we would most certainly stay there again.
“Good place to relax”
Good hotel but you need a car to reach it from Stellenbosch. Good location in the Devon Valley. Would use again.
