“Good quality hotel, well-priced & close to the airport.”
Very happy with my stay in the hotel. Very friendly staff especially a front desk clerk named Jasmin (whose English is excellent) went above and beyond her duties. The rooms have proper air-conditioning and the decor of the hotel (a mix of Italian & North African/Moorish) is very pleasant with comfortable furnishings. The grounds are impeccably kept and the large pool is amazing (not overly chlorinated) with a jacuzzi on either side. The pool is warm and open all night which was a treat to take a late evening swim. Also, the pool goes from very shallow to about 9ft/2.5m which means you can practice your diving! The internet also works decently well--don't know if you have enough bandwidth to download a movie but for email and normal web-surfing, it meets your needs. The location was perfect for us (close to the airport) since we very only staying one night before we checked-in to our rental villa in Taormina the next day. if you want to be in the center of everything this is not the hotel for you, however, the center is only about 5 mins away (without traffic) by car. I have stayed in many hotels and rented villas in Italy and this hotel surprised me especially for the quality (it truly felt like a 4-5 star hotel) and the affordable rate although it was late August. The big question is would I stay here again---absolutely!
“Roman Palace in Sicily”
Romano Palace is a fantastic hotel. It is an immaculate place and the attention to detail is amazing in all respects. Our stay was pure luxury. All the staff were incredibly polite, friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The food in the restaurant was simply art on a plate. We can honestly say it was the best we have ever had and the service was exemplary. We felt like royalty throughout our stay.
“Worth a visit”
Although the hotel is not in a very attractive area and taxis are expensive, the hotel was delightful. The staff from reception to cleaners, pool and dinigroom were friendly, courteous and helpful. They all tried to speak English, some very well and made my Aunt and I feel very welcome. The public areas are beautifully decorated and the room was of a good standard. It was very quiet while we were there in July and the roof garden and gym were not available which was disappointing, but overall, we had a relaxing and extremely comfortable stay.
“Lovely hotel”
A super hotel, with a great beach just over the road. It seemed a little further from the town than the map suggests, which was a disappointment
“BEST HOTEL YET!!”
Probably the nicest hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying. Staff was very very helpful and friendly. Room was OUTSTANDING!! We were traveling off season, so the hotel was not crowded at all. We had a gorgeous room pool/fountain side. Staff attended to our every need with utmost care and courtesy.
“Lovely hotel shame about the location”
The hotel was fabulous unfortunately it wasn't in the best location. It is within walking distance of the town but the trip is not for the faint hearted as there is no footpath along the busiest section of the road and the round trip taxi ride is relatively expensive. It should also be noted that, although the food was of excellent quality, the choice was limited and it is expensive.
“Great hotel”
Great staff, looks wonderful, season starts at june,we were just before so had the whole place!
“Excellent high quality hotel”
From the moment you enter the hotel's gated enclosure you are looked after. From porters to reception staff, you get first class attention. The restuarant was excellent with a good wine list and extremely professional waiters. We wish we had sayed here longer!
“Best choice we could do”
This hotel is not located in the center of the city, it is close to the beach, not far from the airport, so if you plan to swim it is nice. We had to find a hotel at this area, do to other activities we had in Catania, with a group of other people, and from the choice made by other, this hotel was by FAR the best in the area. It has very nice swimming pool and the service was good. Although the hotel is not located at the center, there is a FREE bus service from the hotel to the city center and back. This is very useful. So if you had to stay at this area, this a good (probably the best) choice you could do, but otherwise you may want to consider a hotel which is closer to the center.
“A perfect Oasis on a Beautiful Island.”
Romano Palace Hotel was ideally located between Catania Airport and the Beach, which the hotel had private access to. Although taxi fares from the airport are steep, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus service that was perfect for exploring neighbouring Catania. I would also recommend this hotel for any travelers wishing to explore Siracusa or Taormina as the shuttle service drops you at the InterBus stops in ample time for the day trip. (Although if heading to Siracusa I would recommend staying the night.) The in-house facilities were fantastic; excellent pool facilities (you'll spend the whole day by it without even noticing) and the private Lido access for the beach is a guarantee of an umbrella in the sweltering midday heat. The restaurants are excellent although due to the quality of the food towards the top end of eating out budgets. The breakfast included in our package was of a very high quality and provided our first authentic Sicilian Granite! I would recommend this hotel as one half of a couple, but the number of families also staying would suggest that it suits a range of holidaying needs. The staff spoke good English and were always very helpful in arranging transfers and general tourist requirements. A perfect oasis on a beautiful Island.
