“I enjoyed my stay....”
I thought the Microtel Mactan was a very nice place to stay. The rooms were nice and clean. The whole place was nice and clean. All of the food I ate there was delicious, and reasonable price. The staff seemed a little inexperienced, but tried very hard to make you happy, A+ effort. I found it very easy to find a nice private place to sit and relax out by the beach or the pool. The only things I did not care for but really can't be helped is that the room was not very quiet. You can hear people walking in the halls, or moving furniturt in the room above you. The whole place is cement and tile, so echos and vibrations will carry. But the fact that it is a smaller resort, and you get more personal service, and you can find privacy to be alone and relax far outweighed any small annoyance because of the noise. I will stay there again on my next trip, and I have recommended the Microtel Mactan to all my friends and family.
“Friendly Efficient”
The Inn was quite clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are a few problems, perhaps due to the newness of the hotel. The hot tub did not work and the elevators were oppressively hot. Also the sand on the beach was very rough and the swimming area in the ocean was filled with seaweed.
“Very nice”
The service, food, and rooms were great. The grounds were kept very clean. What I didn't like were the stones on the beach I wish there was more sand.
“Great place for an overnight prior to flying home.”
We stayed here because we had a flight from Cebu the next day and it was a perfect choice. The hotel is very modern with lots of really nice design features. The food is OK though breakfast , which was included , was a little limited. The cost of transfer to the airport is far too high - just ask the doorman to get you a taxi and you pay a fraction of the price. Whilst there cross the road and speak to the local people - they were more than happy to chat .
“Good value hotel”
The hotel itself is nice, clean & modern. The rooms were nice with a modern & contemporary design. I requested a non-smoking room & was very happy to get one with no trace of cigarette smell - the room smelled more like bleach. My only complaint was the majority of their guests were loud & inconsiderate - mostly young asian students visiting Cebu to learn English - at least that's what I learned. I woke up a many times during the night & early hours because they talked loud in the hallways, banged doors. I suggest the hotel place a "BE CONSIDERATE" postcard in every room (in Korean writing). The breakfast buffet was mediocre. The restaurant placed all plates on the far end of the room so we're confused where to get plates. They should put the clean plates at the start of the buffet table & NOT at the other side of the room near the kitchen entrance. The juice table had no clean glasses for guest to use most of the time. I had to call a waiter to ask for clean glassware.
“Average hotel, great staff”
There were no tea and coffee making facilities provided but the reception got a kettle for me to borrow. I found the choices at breakfast a little limited and there were very few choices of western food in the dining room, these were also expensive for what they were, they also have 12% VAT added to the bill and a service charge. However saying that the food was pretty well cooked and all the staff were absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful, friendly and considerate for that alone I would recommend it to anyone
“Good value”
Quite new, bright and clean 3 star hotel. Rooms large and well appointed but not stoked with minibar etc. Fully tiled floors can mean a little extra noise but also add to the "freshness" of the rooms. The "beach" is not a beach in the sense as an Australian you would associate with the word "beach" but the pools are clean and well maintained. The area is very "local" but with a few major hotels (at much higher prices), but it is reasoably easy and inexpensive to get places by taxi.
“Very nice hotel on the water”
This hotel is beautiful. The beach was to be expected as i already knew all of the beaches in Mactan were manmade. Do not expect to walk along whitesand. All the properties in this area are separated, so all you get is the 100 feet owned by the hotel. That said, this place is very nice and i would suggest anyone give it a try if interested in staying in this area.
“One of Mactan's finest”
The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. They give prompt service. However the toiletry kit comes with a fee (unlike other hotels). The view is very nice. The beach is mostly for the water activities (No area to swim). Excellent food.
“Will use again”
i have stayed here 3 times now. It is a smaller hotel on the beach with a pleasant outdoors areas. They provide free WiFi in the lobby where you can use the restaurant seating The staff are friendly and helpful at all times The hotel is only 15-20 minutes from Cebu international airport
