“Good place from which to explore Dijon.”
Quiet, comfortable hotel, ideal location close to centre of Dijon. Excellent breakfast.One small criticism - the corridor on the first floor was very dark, with the light switch difficult to find on leaving the lift.
“Ideal hotel for use as a base in Burgundy”
Hotel very central for shopping and sightseeing Free secure car parking a bonus but a good map needed to find it,or luck!
“Very impressed”
We arrived to find free parking directly across the street in a courtyard that was locked at night- very secure.A courteous welcome awaited at the reception with a good town map and advice on which restaurants were open, many are closed on a Sunday night. The room was not large but the bed was blissfully comfortable, the shower was surprisingly powerful and there was a huge amount of wardrobe capacity.Breakfast was served in the basement with an excellent choice of breads/croissant/cereals and dried fruits. We would definitely stay in the hotel again.
“Excellent overnight stay”
Due to a four hour delay at the chunnel (seaweed on the line) we arrive very late - just gone 10.00 pm - at the hotel but were served an excellent meal in our room.
“great location and helpful staff”
wonderful location: a few minutes walk from the historic center, market place and major sites. We took the train for day trips and the station was an easy walk (without luggage). the staff were friendly and helpful; we would definitely return.
“Great Place to Stay in Dijon”
This is a great place to stay. The desk staff spoke excellent English. Our room was a bit on the small side but I had reserved their cheapest rate and it was certainly adequate. It is just a short walk to the old town with it's amazingly beautiful architecture. Lots of good restaurants and even the market is about a 7 minute walk.
“A bit dated but very clean and we will return”
Like many city centre hotels the rooms are quite small and in this hotel there is an unusual arrangement of a small toilet room plus a larger bathroom. The room and bathroom were very clean although they are overdue for refurbishment. Dijon can get very hot and despite the 33deg temperature outside our room was very comfortable thanks to the air conditioning. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Dijon.
“Outstanding alternative to the big hotel chains”
Forget the Sofitels and the Novotels. The Hotel Philippe le Bon is a great spot in old Dijon within a 5 minute walk of downtown. surrounded by restaurants (and épiceries if you want to buy supper and in your room). The rooms are simple but impeccably maintained, staff polite and helpful. Bathtub was a touch narrow. Parking for guests is off the road and free and breakfast is great - 6 Euros - but it could do you 'til dinner. Attached restaurant is in a 17th century stable, classic French and excellent, though maybe a bit pricey. No hesitation in recommending this place.

This hotel was very nice. Our room was big, and the location was great.
“quiet and welcoming”
The hotel is based around a historic and characterful building in a quiet street opposite a church and very close to the centre. The staff were welcoming and the room clean and bright with a good bathroom. A reasonalbe price for what you get. Like many French hotels, a bit dark in the room at night and breakfast a bit slow. Strongly recommend.
