"Had the feel of a country inn. Room was very unique & decorated like an old English inn room. It was clean & comfortable. The staff, check in, bar & restaurant, was great! Had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant & food was very good!"

"Staff were all pleasant and helpful and the public areas of the hotel were comfortable and welcoming. My room was clean, quiet and the bed was large and very comfortable. My only niggles were the lack of small items such as tissues and cotton wool pads. Also, as with so many hotel rooms, there wasn’t a mirror with decent lighting for applying makeup. I take my own illuminating mirror with me on my travels because this is almost always the case. "

"We visit Durham at least once a month & try to stay at the same place all the time however we stayed here on this occasion, as usual place appeared to be closed. Very nice room & clean. Only issue I had was pillows weren’t very comfortable & the noise of a drill going in room next door just after 9am on day of departure, was a bit of a shock. We Would stay again though. "

"Warm welcome, we had a ground floor room so the view from the window was just trees however not offensive. The room was spotless, and had the usual tea/coffee supply, an iron and ironing board,tv and hairdryer Very comfy bed and an overall great experience Thank you ! "
