“Great Experience!”
The hotel staff made this one of the best experiences my wife and I have had staying at a hotel. Anyone staying here should take advantage of the valet parking. These guys were always on the money. We never had to wait for our car. When we exited the hotel they were on their way to bring the car around, offered advice and tips on directions and were always engaging in friendly conversation. Great group of people. The staff at the front desk, room service and the young men who helped with our bags were of a higher caliber than other hotels that we had stayed at. Not once in the week we stayed here was there anything they would not do to help. When they said they would take care of something it was done and done right. Our hats are off to the staff of this hotel for making this such a pleasurable and memoriable experience. Thank you to everyone.
“Nice hotel, not-so-nice location”
The hotel itself is very well kept. They do charge for everything, including wifi access, which seems a bit much. Our main complaint is that the area - Jacksonville's River Walk - is shabby and down-market to a point where we would never wish to go there again. Thus, if using the hotel for business in downtown Jax, it's excellent; but as a weekend vacation desination, it is only so-so, because of its surroundings.
“Book here first - skip all the others.”
On this vacation we actually stayed at 3 other hotels before we got comfortable & happy - finding the Hyatt on the River in Jacksonville. Paying for the valet parking to be included in the room cost is very worth the little extra - you also get the internet free. We had a little problem at first with the check in staff - I'm thinking there was a language barrier and they didn't get the 'self-park' vs. 'included free valet' thing right. At 10:00pm, exhausted and road weary this was the only a little troubling but after that smooth, wonderful sailing! Even on check out they put two fresh water bottles in the car for us as they loaded our luggage. It was a very nice lasting impression. We will be returning to this hotel & not bother with even attempting the other hotels in the area.

The service, OVERALL WAS EXCELLENT with the glaring exception of Internet Service. This was an add on charge. There are two types, regular speed and business. The regular was fine. I was amazed that a Hyatt would stoop to charging for internet in the rooms. I had work to do that night, and needed to connect.

Beautiful place, right on the Riverwalk. Clean rooms, super-comfy bed and bath, nice buffet breakfast. Would stay there again, in a heartbeat!
“Only place we'd stay in Jacksonville!”
Great view of the river, clean facility and very friendly staff. Within walking distance of The Landing, which is a great place to eat and shop!
“Would Return”
I was on th 15th with a splendid riverside view looking south. This downtown location is most excellent as JAX is small and walkable and the only thing that separates the hotel from JAX's Landing is a parking garage and lot.
