The Kiahuna Plantation offers guests an opportunity to experience, in contemporary comfort, the 19th-century Hawaiian era of sugar plantations and prim missionaries. Widely spaced on 33 acres of natural grounds and interspersed with gardens and lava-rock ponds, 42 white plantation-style buildings face Poipu Beach, once declared by the world's foremost expert as America's best. Access to upper floors is by outside stairs, not elevators. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available near the front desk.
Landscaped grounds include a cactus garden, traditional Hawaiian garden, large orchids, and even water lily ponds. Guests have access to a lagoon, barbeque areas, tennis courts, and a next-door swimming pool.
The front desk can arrange golf outings, helicopter sightseeing trips, luaus, and all other activities available on Kauai; the desk can also rents out videotapes and arrange massage sessions. A beach hut rents out snorkel sets and boogie boards, and provides complimentary towels and beach chairs.

Room Amenities
Dining
Plantation Gardens Restaurant - Hailed as one of Hawaii's best, this spacious restaurant occupies much of the Kiahuna Plantation's original manor house. The manor was a 1930 wedding gift to Alexandra "Sandie" Knudsen and Hector Moir from her father, who inherited Hawaii's first (1835) sugar plantation from his parents. Walls display photographs chronicling plantation history. Under ceiling fans, dining is inside or on a wraparound veranda overlooking gardens and ponds. Wood floors and big wicker chairs evoke an earlier era and slower-paced atmosphere. The shaded bar has its own veranda. Diners are attracted by inventive, contemporary Hawaiian fare featuring local fish and other items.
Recreation
Kiahuna Plantation includes four tennis courts (two lighted). Kiahuna Golf Course is just a three-minute drive away, and the renowned Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course is 10 minutes away. On Kauai, recreational opportunities abound, including those listed below.

“Excellent experience with Kiahuna Plantation condo”
Excellent nicely remodelled beachfont condo with nice kitchen and laundry. Great location with pristine beach. Nice overview of the island activities by Expedia staff. If we return to Kauai, this would be our place to stay.
“Poipu Condo”
Great, clean place located in Poipu. Large complex, but close to Poipu Beach and shopping. The condo seemed a bit small, but otherwise was great. We were close to Poipu road and right across the street was the tennis and swim club, which we used a lot.
“North Shore Couple says *****.”
Super friendly staff... they have the aloha spirit. Well appointed room/suite. Beautiful grounds. An upscale restaurant on the property...the food was onolicious. Very close to Koloa Town and Poipu. Enjoyed our stay
“Very Relaxing stay”
Room was spacious, clean and welcoming. The grounds and beach was outstanding. Only drawback was that the pool was across a busy highway, granted only 2 lanes but not really 'on the grounds'.
“Beautiful View”
We loved this property! A lot had to do with being upgraded from a garden view room to an ocean front room! Not more than 25 feet from the sand. The unit itself was nice and nicely appointed. No problem with feral chickens waking us up as others reported. All we heard were the waves! We didn't want to leave our room because the view was so spectacular!
“great place to stay in poipu”
loved our condo-opened out onto a garden which made it feel remarkably private not like in the middle of a condo complex and didn't have to deal with foot traffic going by to the beach- but beach is right there when you want to be there
“Much better choice than all the resorts next to it!”
1) The rooms are very good since they have a big balcony with a nice view (even if you don't have the ocean view rooms), fully equipped kitchen and a living room (think we had room number 53) 2) The resort is very nice since there are a lot of brand new gas barbecues, which makes it possible to grill your own steak during sunset; 3) I would definitely recommend this place. I definitely prefer this to a big resort, since I am personally not interested in paying more for smaller rooms and amenities I don't use (spa, gym, impressive lobby, shops, large pool (you're next to the beach)) 4) Kauai is beautiful, but take into account that it's a very quiet island - don't expect a lot of restaurants, bars etc. You should go to Kauai for relaxing and nature (Napali Coast, Waimea Canyon, several beaches - all very impressive)
“Fully equipped, very comfortable”
We loved our staying at the Kiahuna Plantation. The rooms are big and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with all kinds of cooking utensils... even a blender and a toaster!. We'll be happy to come back.
“Very comfortable room -- beautiful grounds and great beach.”
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was a beautiful location with the beach adjacent. I would highly recommend this resort to other travelers, and if we ever get to go back to Kauai, we will certainly stay at the same place.
“More than I expected”
This was a nice Condominium, not a hotel room, and I was really surprised that this is what I was getting. One bedroom, bath, living area, dining area, kitchen, and balcony, nicely furnished and very comfortable.
