“Cost effective”

“cheap and cheerful hostel/hotel, good value for money”
Bright and airy hostel with modern ikea-furnished private rooms. Free wireless internet and a cheap (basic) breakfast buffet make it extra good value. In the mornings there was quite a lot of noise from the corridor which could bother light sleepers. The location near the main train station was quiet but not seedy and there were very good transport connections.
“Good basic hostel.”
Good basic hostel. Clean and comfortable. Central and cheap.
“no title”
clean no frills
“Clean and modern”
15 min walk from the train station, cheap beer hall opposite, clean and modern rooms. Decent breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff.
“clean, modern, and convenient”
We found the hotel/hostel convenient and clean, no-frills accommodation just right for our family's stay. We enjoyed the look of the rooms--an Ikea style dorm look. The breakfast bar was generous--a real plus for the budget minded. The front desk staff helped out generously and cheerfully, and the walk from the main train station and the town center only took a few minutes. The only drawback was the duvet covers were a little skimpy in the cool rooms.
“Good option for younger crowd”
This is a hostel. It was our first experience at one, but I had an idea of what to expect. Our en suite room was tiny, but utilized very well with two twin beds, TV, shelves, and a desk. The bathroom was actually nicer than a few of the other hotels we stayed at. The heater could be intense, but with the window cracked it wasn't a problem. The noise was louder than other places, as expected, but calmed down around 11pm. There was a large lounge with computers, TVs, and vending machines. There is a laundry room in the basement and a non-secured (why?!) luggage room. The front desk had information about the area, but was very understaffed the morning we checked out. It was a bit of a hike from the train station, maybe 15-20 min with our packs, but there is a tram that runs right in front of the hostel. My husband and I only stayed one night.
“A fine hostel”
If you are a budget traveller, or travelling alone, staying at a hostel is a good way to save money on accomodations. The Meininger City Hostel was a good choice. We were four female adults spending time in Bavaria for the Christmas Markets. We shared a private room with 1 bunk bed and 3 twin beds. We had our own bathroom in the room with a shower. It was nice that the toilet and sink had a seperate door from the shower. One person good continue to get ready while another person showered. The location was very close to the S-Bahn station. We took the S-Bahn directly from the Munich Airport. It is about a 35-40 minute trip. Breakfast was the typical, bread, meats, cheeses, cereal, coffee and juice. The hostel also provided a free walking tour of Munich every morning. The staff was helpful and spoke very good English.
“Rest easy in Munich”
Safe, clean, affordable hostel for our family of five. We had a family room with twin bunks and two double beds. Bathroom towels required a small deposit which is returned to you after your stay. The staff was friendly and spoke fluent English. We had some difficulty finding the location even with the GPS since the hotel's marquee outside clearly spelled "hostel" rather than the advertised name. Also, the elevator seemed quite small and rickety so our family hiked up six flights of stairs. It wasn't a problem for us since we're relatively healthy people, but that could be a problem for older guests or people with disabilities. Nonetheless, if you decide to brave the elevator you can save yourself the trouble.
“Well located Munich Hostel”
This basic hostel was perfect for a short break. The location was excellent-just a 5 minute walk from the train station, a 30 minute walk from centre, a few seconds walk from a tram and a beer hall-what more can you ask for?!
