“For the money, can't beat it!”
Location, Location, Location. One block from subway station. Across the bridge from Manhattan. It is so easy to get places from here - you'll be surprised how quickly you'll take to the subway system. I suggest buying an unlimited metrocard. Wireless internet. Continental breakfast. Room was small, but clean and adequate.
“Really good location!”
The hotel has an excellent location. Only one-minute walk from the subway station. Great free breakfast service. But there are only 3 tables at the breakfast bar, so it's a little crowded.
“Cheap but the Best Hotel near New York”
If you are looking for a good hotel within low budget this is your choice. The location is super, you take Subway/Metro #7 from Queensboro Plaza Station which is just 1 block from the hotel, that train will take you to Times Square within 10 minutes. From there you can go anywhere. The hotel maintenance is so good it looks like a brand new one. Hotel Staffs were very helpful too. Overall I am very satisfied and will stay here again if I go to New York in future. I will recommend this Hotel to everyone travelling to New York.
“Clean and comfortable”
Nice staff, clean room, good breakfast, and close to the train.
“Great place to stay for NY vacation”
We were very impressed with the Comfort Inn. (The presence of a lot of European and foreign guests is always a good clue that the hotel will be a great value for a practical stay.) The room was large enough, with all amenities including good heater/AC, hair dryer, king bed. Breakfast every day was a real bonus - variety and good hours of service. The 24 hour desk person and valet service was useful, and they were very willing to accomodate us - luggage storage, car service, good advice. If you like the window open, there is some all-night noise (subway, etc.), but not a huge issue. Fellow guests were pretty quiet. The Long Island City neighborhood looks a little scary at first - wrecking yard, body shops, etc. However, the hotel is just a short block away from a subway express stop with 3 lines that get you to Manhattan in 10-15 minutes. Walk to and from the subway was safe, regardless of the hour. A late night deli and a convenience store were handy. Just a 10-minute walk from the hotel in the other direction brings you to the LI City historic district, PS-1 (MOMA) museum, good restaurants.
“gem in the rough”
I enjoyed the clean, affordable comfort of a hotel (or inn) in the middle of Long Island. It was a pleasant surprise for our honeymoon.
“Great hotel...parking not great....”
I was very impressed with the hotel, the lobby and rooms were very nice including the granite in the bathrooms and the new furniture. The only problem I had was the parking situation. You have to park on the street or two blocks up at the Queens Plaza parking garage. The first night I stayed I parked in the parking garage and my rental vehicle was broken into. The bottom floor of the parking garage is a police station and it still wasn't safe. I parked on the street next to the hotel the rest of the week and was fine. The best time to get a good parking spot is about 7pm or you can move your car about that time. The parking garage is not safe and is expensive. Other than that my stay was without incident.
“Great for the confident Traveler”
There were 3 of us - all college students. (3 males) The hotel does seem to be in a somewhat shady area, but with only a block to walk to the subway, time square and central park or only 5 minutes away. The room was a bit small, but perfect for tourism. The staff was extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel to those who just need a place to stay, wouldn't recommend it to your daughters who would be alone, but never had a worry even at 2am or after. Overall, surprised with service and location to the "main spots" TT
“Definitely great hotel with friendly staff and worth every penny”
I have to say the hotel was great. No complaints what so ever. Hotel is in a great shape, rooms are clean, good breakfast in the mornings, and staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You won't find this kind of service at this price in NY. Also the hotel is 1 block away from the subway which is the added bonus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“excellent hotel”
