“Very satisfied”
Can't think of any negatives except for nitpicking on the location of the ice machine (only on the second floor)and the strong smell of the deoderizer when we first entered the room, but it went away when we opened the room. There was really no bad smell to disguise. Location and parking were excellent and the facilities and staff were great. There is a nice continental breakfast with a different variety each day. The self-made waffles were popular. It was nice to sit on the deck off the room and view the river beyond the large lawn/picnic area with the ocean off in the distance. There are boats available for guests to use on the river and gas grills for cooking on the lawn. The free hourly hotel shuttle service was convenient for going to the main beach, which is close to the restaurants and shops in Ogunquit and near Marginal Way, which is a nice walking trail along the ocean. There is a trolley stop in front of the hotel for going to Ogunquit or Wells areas more frequently and later than the hotel shuttle for just $1.50 per person. Ogunquit is a great place for walking around a beautiful, scenic ocean area during the day and a fun atmosphere in the evening. We would definitely go back to the Ogunquit River Plantation.
“Friendly and accomadating front desk staff”
The River Plantation was a little more family friendly than I had anticipated. The clean rooms, the friendly staff and close location to the town of Ogunquit more than made up for it.

We really enjoyed our get-away. The view from our room balcony was wonderful - a nature's paradise. It was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of our lives.

we had a delightful stay at this very clean hotel. the name of the hotel is a bit misleading since it is actually in the neighboring town of Wells, but it is well located for Wells restaurants and beach. very easy to get to central Ogunquit on the trolley. would definetly return

Very pleasant and helpful front desk. Nice view. We were on the third floor. Had a balcony and river view. We could see the ocean. Quiet. Clean and comfortable. Will be going back next year.
“Excellent Stay”
We had a very clean and comfortable room with a view of the river. I appreciated the separate changing area with sink and mirrors. Having a refrigerator was a plus. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic and way beyond anything I expected! I would definitely go back again.
“Nice place, great breakfast”
We were very pleased by the delicious waffles (not frozen), assorted muffins, bagels, bananas, etc... getting mixed fruit one day was a nice treat too. The staff was friendly and knowledgable, the beach shuttle was fantastic--we used it every day to go to the beach or get to the Marginal Way walk. The trolley stop right outside the hotel was nice too. We only rode it once due the price for our family. The access to the water by kayak was not as easy as we had hoped. We brought our own kayak and found it was easiest to put in during high tide--very mucky during low tide.
“Best out of town hotel in Ogunquit”
I love this place! Spectacular views and very freindly staff. Although it is a couple of miles from the center of town there is an old fashion trolley several feet from the hotel that goes in to town every 10 minutes. The rooms are not glamorous by any means, however, they are clean and spacious.
“Excellent small town hotel!!”
We arrived late and were welcomed and checked in in less than a minute. We had a King room looking out to the river, view was fabulous. We shared a balcony with 3 or 4 other rooms and there was an artist staying next to us who painted every morning and quiety kept to him/herself. We never saw who it was...the easel and paints just came and went without us seeing who was doing it. Must do! Go to breakfast and make your own waffle. Takes 3:00 minutes and its GREAT, and included with your room. Quiet area, nice pool, parking lot always FULL. We would go again and stay in the same place!
