“Pelican Hill Resort”
Great resort. We loved it. Very spacious room with nice ocean view even though we had a garden view.
“put this one on your bucket list!”
superb service, spectacular view and ocean view room.
“Spring Break with my daughter 2012”
Best resort/hotel I ever stayed at. Our room/bungalow was huge, private, quiet, clean, and comfy. Service at this resort is by far exceptional.
“Thank You Pelican Hill staff”
I have traveled to alot of Resorts. This one is the best. Our bungalow was spacious and overlooked the garden and the ocean. Our trip to the spa was surperb. We had a massage, pedicure & lunch at the Colise um. It was great. We dined at the Pelican Grill for dinner. It was great. Beautiful views of their golf course overlooking the Pacific Ocean from every point we were at. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We rented a car for a day and off to Laguna Beach for a day of shopping all the unique shops. Just can't say enough good. If you want to spoil yourself this is the place to go.
“First Class Southern Californian Resort”
We enjoyed every minute of our anniversary trip to Pelican Hill. The spa and treatments were excellent and the food at Andreas was remarkable. We will definitely return for a relaxing couple's weekend, with friends and with our daughter once she is old enough to attend Camp Pelican (4-12 years).
“Outstanding Hotel”
We've had the pleasure of staying in a number of wonderful hotels, both 4 and 5 star properties. Pelican Hill is one of the best. We could not have been more happy with the hotel, the staff and the food. The location is perfect and the staff goes out of their way to make sure your visit is perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Some things to be aware”
If you want to be away from it all then probably a good choice as it is a really quiet resort. Beware though that some bungalows suffer from road noise so not as away from it as you expect. Bungalows are nice and well furnished but grounds are not that spacious for anyone that likes to walk, more suited for golf carts!
“Great Hotel and facility but lots of walking”

“Not impressed with service for a great building compound with amazing views.”
At check in we requested the best possible room with best view and were told the hotel was full but later realized that few people were there so I was disappointed they did not upgrade. The food was terrible and room service non existence. It was 10:00 PM on a Saturday summer night and we were told that the kitchen was closed! (at both restaurants) so we went back to our villa and order room service but told us they have two or three items available in the menu, very basic, then the food was not fresh, and veryyyyyy simple plus in the villa there was not enough light to read so we need to ask for an additional reading lamp…not what you expect and get at a really 5 stars hotel!!
“Don't Be Fooled By Location & Price - Service doesn't live up to It”
If you are used to staying at fine hotels like the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton, then you will be disappointed at Pelican Hill. The rm was nice, but I was surprised to find stains on carpet, fingernail polish on desk, clock didn’t work & burned out bulb in bathrm. The bungalow rms are in single level bdgs & you drive & park in front of your rm. This sounds nice, but the bdgs overlook each other & depending on which rm you are in you may have more view of the bdg in front of you than the ocean. On the patio the sun was intense making it difficult to sit outside. I called & asked if they had a patio umbrella, it was Pelican Hill after all, right? I would have been fine if the staff would have just said “I’m so sorry, but we don’t”, instead, I was told in a sarcastic tone that there was a rain umbrella in the closet or they could bring me some sunscreen. When I thought he misunderstood what I was saying, I was told that some categories of rooms have patio umbrellas, but we weren’t in one of them. Why don't they all have them?? So,we went to dinner at the Coliseum. I ordered the salmon & my husband ordered the margarite pizza. When our dinner arrived his pizza had thick dough that was undercooked and it was terrible. He asked them to bring him something else. I finished my salmon & finally the waiter came over & said it was going to be another 15 min. The restaurant mgr was nice, but we left. Even upon check-out we had a problem with the bill. We are sorry we ever went there!
