“Campanile Paris Sud is a good Hotel to stay at for weekends in Paris”
The Staff were friendly and helpfull, clean room with breakfast / dinner buffet it also has a bar . I would recomend the Campnile to any one who would like to visit Paris on weekend breaks. Public transport well laid out for you to tour Paris easily .
“Great value, convenient location - would stay there again.”
Stayed for 3 nights and had no problems. Hotel was easy to find, caught the metro from Paris CDG airport and was at the hotel within the hour (8.60 Euro ticket bought at the airport allows you to travel straight to the hotel). Only a 5 minute walk from the metro (Place d'Italie) and used a Paris Visitie ticket during our stay (20 Euros for 3 days). Inside the hotel is clean and modern looking. Rooms are small but are perfect for a few nights stay. Bathroom was spotless. Flatscreen TV in the room with tea and coffee making facilities (and very nice biscuits!) The staff were polite and spoke very good English but did appreciate the effort to speak French. Surrounding neighbourhood is a little noisy but with the windows closed you don't hear it. There were a few shady characters but walking back from the metro at midnight was not a frightening experience. NB: We did not pay any city tax when there. I enquired and it appears that the hotel is just outside the centre enough not to have to pay. This may change but is worth noting.
“Paris and a great hotel”
This hotel was easy to get to using the metro, amazing staff, clean and comfortable. I will happily stay here when I visit again.
“Remodelled hotel”
TV channels only in French. No A/C. Modern decoration, clean bathroom. From CDG airport (train 9 euros), to Citté Universitaire. Get out and buy bus ticket. Take bus/tram accross street and off in Port d-Italie. Supermarket "ED" right there. Walk on the street opposite to bus stop. After a gas station, cross one light and turn right. Hotel is a little hidden from view. From Hotel to Orly (by metro) is 50 minutes approx. Maybe it is better to use a taxi. Train going to CDG leaves you at West (OUEST) Terminal
“Paris on the cheap”
Just outside the Paris ring road, but near two metro stations (Le Kremlin & Porte d'Italie). Good local shops, restaurants. The flatscreen TV was at a slightly wrong angle, but watchable. (The screen was much brighter if you stood on the bed!). Clean and modern.
“Great for what you pay”
This hotel is NOT centrally located but neither did we pay the premium for this. It was clean and about a 5 minute walk from the Metro station in an area where we felt safe. If you want a beautiful hotel in the heart of Paris, choose (and pay) for another. This hotel was everything we wanted- a nice, clean hotel at a moderate cost.
“Young Londoners opinion”
The hotel itself is easy enough to find as its very close to the metro line with just a few minutes walk. it's very clean and modern inside and the staff are kind and friendly at the main desk and speak english which is helpful. The room itself is very clean and had everything we need, but the bed was sooo uncomfortable, me and my girlfriend are 20 so we're easily able to sleep anywhere on anything but we had a hell of a time trying to get a good nights sleep in our bed. The hotel maids were also very noisy in the mornings shouting up and down the corridors to each other having conversations outside our door like it was nothing which was really frustrating, the more annoying thing is that they burst into our room twice in 3 days to try to clean even though we had a 'do not disturb' sign on the door which we felt was very unprofessional and killed our lay ins. The restaurant was nice and clean but the menu felt very limited and was quite expensive so we made sure to eat out instead although the bar was quite nice and relaxing. The surrounding area is quite nice apart from the main road with all the traffic and beeping which is quite loud, theres a nice park nearby as well and all the main tourist sites are easily accessible, the eiffel tower was no more than a 30 min journey on the metro which is very good but I think if you want to see the sites you might want to pick somewhere a little more central.
“Good hotel... for Paris”
Good location, 2 blocks from Metro. Small rooms, bed was just adequate. No English language TV channels. Good buffet restaurant. Good desk service. Hotel arranged airport shuttle.
“Campanile Paris Sud - Porte d'Italie”
Hi we checked into the hotel on 24/25.12.07 at around 1am. we were not welcomed by receptionist as he was watching tv while I was standing at the desk to check in and my fiance to to find out where he should park. I have been told to pay for parking 20 pounds which suppose to be free for us. Room were nice and clean but corridor was a bit disgusting. The breakfast was lovely. Reception staff was not friendly at all.
