My family spent a night in this hotel to send my daughter to UCSD. When I was booking through expedia, I just couldn't believe the extremly low price. Lower than a motel. Since I saw this hotel during my previous stay in a neighboring hotel, I know It should be a nice hotel. After the fast check in, we found out the room was even better than we expected. The room was very clean and quite large with two double beds, a sofa bed, microwave, mini refrigrater,and a lcd TV. The bed and bedings were all in good quality. The free breakfast, free wi-fi and free parking were big pluses too. My kids enjoyed the pool and spa also.The hotel located in an industrial area, and you could see the big signs of Qualcom everywhere, but it took only a few minutes to go to UCSD, La Jolla beach and dining and shopping area. The guests were mainly business travelers and a few seasonal tourists. But that weekend most guests were families sending kids to college. We were very satisfied with our stay, and will come back again even we might not get the same extremly low price next time.

“Good place to stay near UCSD”

We stayed one night and felt very comfortable. We were driving our god-daughter down to start school at UCSD and helping her move in. HI Express was convenient (5 min away) and close to the freeways. Outside pool and jacuzzi was great and breakfast had good selection with eggs and bacon. There were doing some repainting on the exterior but the interior was immaculate.
