"I decided to book at the Happy Salmon because of all the previous reviews indicating the rooms being very clean and they were absolutely right. The rooms are very basic but very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a coffee maker, a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom was also very clean. The only negative is that my room had a strange smell in it. Not a gross or musty smell by any means but a different type of odour when I first walked in. After being in the room for a few minutes, I didn't smell it after that.
When I first drove up, I thought the outside looked a bit dated so I was concerned at first but don't judge a book by it's cover because the rooms are very cute, tidy, clean, small and simple which is all I needed it for. I met Joanna at reception and she is very nice as well. She takes great pride in making the place look nice including planting flowers outside.
It's about a 5 minute drive into Salmon Arm where you'll find lots of restaurants and amenities. There is definitely noise from the highway traffic but my room had a door so once it was closed, it was quiet especially at night as the traffic wasn't as busy. It really didn't bother me at all. If you need a place for a few nights, the Happy Salmon will fulfil your needs."
