“Pleasant surprise”
I have not had good luck in the past with booking hotels on line in 3rd world countries. However this one met all of my expectations. It was clean, comfortable & the service was GREAT. They did not get upset when we booked services through other agencies. They just wanted our stay to be as good as possible. The pool was small but clean & very welcome in the overwhelming heat of Cambodia. Some of the staff had more limited English ability but there was always a more fluent person readily available. The breakfast was full (1 egg, 1 bacon, 2 toast, fruit, coffee or tea) vs just toast. If that wasn't enough, you could order another one for $2. We had 2 booking problems (when we arrived & when we left) but both were resolved expeditiously. The AC worked well. The tv had a variety of channels in several different languages. In English there was Bloomberg, a news channel (but not CNN or BBC), HBO, Star & a few others. The beds were very comfortable. Fairly hard matress as is common in Asia but soft pillows as most Westerners like. It was only a 10 minute walk to the market area (or a $2 tuk tuk ride). I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Very fair value.
“Good stay and value”
Hotel staff were friendly, and for the price of the room the overall experience exceeded expectations. Restaraunt on top floor was very good and has a good view. Hotel is a little out of the way, but Siem Reap is relatively small, so not a major inconvenience at all. We were there during Holiday season and the hotel was decorated nicely, and the staff seemed to be quite in the spirit. Appreciated the internet access and computers in the main lobby as we chose not to carry a laptop on the trip.
“A little treasure”
The good value, the great staff who were helpful and friendly and the excellent Indian restaurant make this hotel well worth a visit. Even if you don't stay here, don't miss an evening meal at the restaurant. I am a food critic and a chef, and they managed to impress me.
“A great base for a mid range hotel”

“Superb”
Having stayed in fair number of hotels over SE Asia this hotel would have to be one of the very best. Better than a lot of five star places. A new hotel with unbelievable low price and breakfast is included. We stayed in a spotless comfortable huge deluxe room with all the mod cons and a large bathroom. Go out french doors for nice views from front balcony. Amazing views from rooftop, can see all over Siem Reap and even top of Angkor Wat. Rooftop has a modern gym room and a good Indian restaurant for tea and is also where you have breakfast, either inside or out on terrace. Hotel floors everywhere are tiled and spotless. Free internet in lobby. Free airport transfers. Nice pool. Staff and owners are fantastic. Nothing is any bother. Will make any tour arrangements you want and will give you tips and clues on best times and places to go etc. Only a pleasant short stroll along riverside walk to get to Old Markets and Pub Street. Overall, fantastic.
“Highly recommended Claremont”
Great location in a quiet street across the river which looks magical at night. An easy walk to old market area, tuktuks readily available and water store next door. Breakfast is on the roof so if you're early enough you'll catch a beautiful sunrise over the city. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is owned by an Australian who appears to see the value of regular maintenance.
“If yours going to Siem Reap Cambodia stay here.”
I booked this hotel through expedia for the money this hotel is amazing, some of the most helpful and pleasant staff I have ever come across. The rooms are contemporary modern, clean and very comfortable, close enough to main centre but far enough for peace and quiet. Loved it. 10 out of 10.
“simple and very nice”
Very nice small and personalized hotel, helpfull and kind staff, very clean, good location, very good indian restaurant on top of the building with nice view on the river
“Siem Reap's Finest!!”
What a gem!! I booked at the Claremont Angkor on the recommendation of a trusted friend. It was so good I stayed a week. The rooms are spacious, airconditioned and clean. The water is hot and there is a bath - unusual for Cambodia. The staff are extremely helpful and professional. The staff and owners are extremely perceptive to the individual needs of their guests; booking transport and offering advice to maximize the stay was excellent. The rooftop restaurant is exceptional. Breakfast was wonderful. My daily omlette was cooked to perfection and accompanied with fresh fruit. The Indian restaurant must be one of Siem Reap's best kept secrets. I ate there every night. They have both Indian and Khmer chefs and I saw several guests eating steaks and Western food. The owner ensured my particular dietary requirements (gluten free) were more than adequately catered for.The Indian food is exceptional. I have lived and worked in Cambodia for 3 years, visiting most provinces and the Claremont Angkor is truely one of the best value for money hotels in which I have stayed. Outstanding!!
“This is a great place to stay in Siem Reap”
When I was looking for a hotel to stay for my recent short trip to Siem Reap I reviewed a lot of the larger, more touristic hotels in town, but was not happy with the overall value for money, nor was I prepared to pay all that money and be located on the edge of town. I wanted something mid range, mid town and good quality. The Claremont Angkor Hotel fitted my bill admirably, combining excellent service, good hotel organization and a comfortable and spacious room with a surprizingly low and competetive room rate (probably the best in town for a hotel of this standard). I am not allowed to say how much this hotel cost, but rest assured that it was extremely good value, and it included a complimentary airport pickup and breakfast on the rooftop balcony. I was very happy with my Claremont Angkor Hotel experiences, and would recommend this place to anyone who is not addicted to 5-star hotels.
