The hotel is conveniently sittuated a mere minutes stroll from Marina Grande where you will discover the beach and a number of reasonably priced restaurants. The hotel was possibly the cleanest we have stayed in. Our room was immaculate if somewhat on the small side. The breakfast buffet was of excellent quality with a wide vaiety of food on offer. Be aware though that there is 2.5% surcharge on the bill when you pay by credit card. Despite this, my wife and I felt this hotel represented good value for money and intend to return one day.

Hotel Del Mare offers everything you could need from a small clean family run hotel, ideally situated to explore Sorrento, a stones throw from great restaurants and beaches. Brilliant breakfast, friendly staff, clean well stocked rooms. 10 out of 10.

“The Place to Stay in Sorrento”

Hotel - welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Location - perfect, adjacent to a small picturesque harbour with sandy beach which, although small, was never crowded. A short stroll from the centre of Sorrento with beautiful views of the bay, but also a regular local bus service to the rail and bus station. Eating out - a choice of half a dozen bars and restaurants,excellent food, all reasonably priced. Shops - local Tabac and a Mini-Market open til late. In summary - the hotel, friendly staff, perfect location with all amenities means that when my wife and I visit Sorrento again we would not consider staying anywhere else.

“Exceptional hotel in great neighborhood”

Extremely comfortable, friendly hotel. Outstanding staff. Provided helpful suggestions for sight seeing. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Neighborhood was ideal for people who like to be off the beaten track but who can walk to all the major Sorrento attractions. There is a bus but it runs only once or twice an hour. We loved the Marina Grande neighborhood.

“Clean Friendly Hotel near the beach in Sorrento”

Hotel Del Mare is a great hotel in a terrific location. Friendly, efficient staff keep the place spotless. Generous breakfasts, free wi-fi, and a close proximity to the beach add to the allure. What was a plus for my wife and I might be a problem for others. There is a bit of climbing involved in getting to the main part of town. But we got used to it quickly. There's also a bus that comes once an hour, but it's like seven and a half Euros for a short ride. The Marina Grande section of Sorrento, Italy is a cove on the coast. Most of the town is on the cliffs farther east. The hotel is around the corner from the sea with a quaint fishing harbor with beach side restaurants with a terrific view of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the distance. The road that comes to this little neighborhood dead ends there. So you don't hear a lot of noisy motor scooters riding by. It's also a bit away from the nightlife area, so it's quieter. All the floors are ceramic. They are beautiful and easy to clean beach sand. But they can be slippery, coming out of the shower. Also they magnified the sound of a generally well behaved, yet loud youth group from the British Midlands. There's also a boat building shop across the street. I spent 45 minutes just watching them haul this beautiful fishing boat out of the shop and plop it down in the water a block away. The crane nudged it out of an impossibly tight space on to a truck for the short ride.

A lovely hotel with spotlessly clean rooms, an excellent buffet breakfast and very friendly, helpful staff. It is in a beautiful location - but we had trouble finding it from Sorrento station - it was a much longer walk (with suitcases) than we had realised. Once we had worked out the local buses, we were fine getting into town but it is not an easy route on foot. Possibly because it was late in the season (October - although the weather was gorgeous), the promised minibar was not stocked and not working. Apart from that small gripe, the hotel staff were very welcoming and helped us with bus and train times etc and helped us sort out our previously booked Amalfi Drive tour for which we had to get to Naples.

“Right price for location and room”

Not the best hotel but good value. It's near the water and a great place to eat right around the corner. However, it's a good walk to get to the main plaza of Sorrento but there is a public bus that will get you there.
