“Lovely place”
Highly recommended
“Great central location, great service.”
Located right in the heart of Sheffield, this is a great hotel if want access to anything in the CBD. We were heading for the Theatre district, and it was right on the doorstep. The rooms are very modern and very comfortable, but the building also has lots of historic charm. Would definitely stay here again.
“Characterful and well placed for restaurants”
I go to Sheffield for a conference every year and this is the best I've stayed in so far.
“Brilliant Hotel”
This is a wonderful old restored school building but a totally tasteful, contemporary hotel inside. The staff are excellent and the rooms modern, clean and comfortable. The location is excellent near to the city centre shops, bars and restaurants. I'd highly recommend this hotel.
“Great service, nice-looking place, heating issues.”
I think some reviews are unfair - the hotel is v.good overall, especially for the price. The location great right by the bus/tram stops, High street + many shops. The railway is about 15 min walk (though it's uphill oneway so not ideal with lots of luggage). The rooms are modern, clean, with a bit of style, good beds. Some criticisms were: the shower didn't have good pressure, though generally bathroom was nice and new, the duvets were hot and heavy, while room temperature is badly regulated by hot air fans (at least they are quiet) so it's either on & too hot, or off & gets cold during the night. This would not be a problem in warm weather. It can be a bit noisy depending where your room is - mine was at the back looking over square with restaurants, but it was ok as those places are smart so no major noise. There is secondary glazing which helps. Another criticism was food! it's not cheap by local standards but the quality of food/preparation is just not there, everything ok but not tasty, esp chicken dishes or pizza. There are only basic channels on tv, but they are planning to change that. The best thing about the hotel (apart from the general look) is the staff! I actually never came across staff as helpful and nice as this, not even in more expensive hotels. They really went out of their way to help and treated everyone personally. Stacey was amazing and my favourite (i hope i spelled the name right), but also the guys were very nice.
“My Hen do experience”
Our initially allocated lower ground room was dark and cold but reception quickly moved us to a nicer room higher in the building and staff came to assist us move our bags. The rooms were very clean and well kept, the bar staff were always on hand to assist (even at 1-30am). A party of 6 of us stayed at the hotel, 2 used the parking available also and all were pleased with the experience.

Beautiful place, hardly looks like a hotel from the outside! Staff could not do enough to help and were friendly and courteous at all hours. Lobby nice little place to relax in and staff were also very good at recommending places to eat.
“Great Sheffield run..great hotel”
I booked this hotel for its very central location to the rail station and the city centre and it did not disappoint on either point.5 mins walk from station through the uni campus area , taking in Peace Gardens,no need for taxi unless you are laden with luggage! very easy to find and central for all shops,bars , entertainments etc Very friendly desk staff, no pins for sons running number...found easily,although grand surroundings, didnt feel we were dressed 'down'..sons jeans and hoody teen uniform! made to feel very welcome in all areas. hope to return.
“Average Stay”
Arrived at the Leopold for a Valentines weekend break. Reasonable hotel, but doesnt live up to the Small Luxury Hotel standard, and certainly isnt as glamourous as it seems on the website. Room was small and plain, but with a nice, clean bathroom. Service was usually good, with the exception of one experience with the night porter staff were efficient and courteous. Overall, no major flaws but nothing exceptional.
