"It's a very basic bed and breakfast with a very, very basic breakfast. The main problem is the location on the map is very wrong. I had a local drive me to the address and the place we ended up was not correct. I called the host with the assistance of that previous mentioned local resident and the host was nice enough to come pick me up from a local business. "although the room is tiny and there is no elevator (other than a tiny one for your luggage), the design of the whole place is stylish and nicely executed. I especially love the common area. There are so many interesting books (in Chinese) that I would love to read. Sure will go back to stay with Hok House next time I visit Kaohsiung."

"We had a great stay at this hotel. Our room was first class and the internal facilities at the hotel were really great. Externally the hotel looked a little drab and rundown but that just gave the wrong impression to our actual experience. Staff went out of their way to help. "Excellent overnight stay. Neat Japanese-style room, good WiFi, great little bathtub and shower. The Japanese breakfast included in room rate was superb. The location on the edge of Jioufen might be a problem if you find yourself carrying luggage up the steps from the bus stop, otherwise it’s nice and quiet. But it was tricky to find. We didn’t anticipate any problems as we weren’t given any specific instructions. Definitely something that could be improved upon."

"We read other reviews about getting to the B&B from public transportation and then walking as well as bringing food for dinner which we found to be extremely helpful. The property is quaint and beautiful with amazing views of the mountains. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. Our room was the “Lemongrass” room and it was fantastic. Very clean and comfortable. The B&B provided delicious breakfast with tea/ coffee for the mornings. The location is also very close to a sunrise viewing point....
