“Costa Adeje Gran Hotel perfect for family break to Tenerife”
We stayed at the Gran hotel for a week B&B status with our almost 3 year old daughter. The hotel was beautiful, really stunning and a genuine 5 star hotel. the service from the staff was great. Very friendly and very child friendly too. out of the 3 ground floor pools (we didn't go to the roof pool) one was heated almost like a bath which was glorious, one wasn't heated and the baby pool was lightly heated. There were always sunbeds available., and we didn't usually get down to the pool until after lunch. The animation team were great, not pushy in your face but friendly and encouraging so that we even joined in a few pool games. The kids club is brilliant, a really nice playground on sand all sealed off and only accessed through one gate that is locked from the outside. Mini disco was probably my favourite bit, all the kids got involved and it was a really good laugh. the evening entertainment after disco was great too everynight and the animation team took all the kids to the front of the stage so the adults could sit back and enjoy their drinks. The resort of Costa Adeje was nice but if i go back I would go half board or all inc. with the hotel as restaurants were on average a 10 minute walk away and not that cheap (with a 2 year old). The beaches were stunning, the sea was warm and even the monarch flights were good! All round a thumbs up.
“we will rebook this hotel”
Just returned from our 2nd trip to this hotel. Food is excellent, so much choice and many varieties. Could not fault the hotel, plenty of sunbeds and as many clean towels as you wanted daily. Reception could be a little quicker at checking in but saying that we arrived early.
“our second holiday at the hotel as enjoyable as the first”
Having stayed two years ago and loved the hotel, we deliberated should be try an alternative 5 star hotel in Adeje. We compared prices and felt the Adeje Gran offered fantastic value versus the competition we considered. The room and service were again first class, and the food excellent, particularly the massive choice and quality both for breakfast and the evening meals. The pool areas are also beautifully complemented by the palm trees etc and superb for swimming. The entertainment on the whole was excellent , although the location ,layout of the "stage" at the far end of the massive reception area, and the pa. system is not ideal to get the best out of the quality artists booked - but I was struggling to find some area of improvement to focus on ! Overall a great Hotel, superb staff, and a fabulous holiday.
“Worthy of a revisit”
Brilliant, one of my best hotel stays ever. Staff friendly and extremely helpful, they have a very good attitude towards their guests and can't do enough for you. The beer is ICE cold and great, pools are lovely. the hotel is not directly on the beach but very close to everything you need. Overall I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
“Excellent Hotel”
Stayed 14/2/08 - 20/2/08, three of us for a much needed winter break. We all loved the Hotel with 2 exceptions, 1) The swimming pool was freezing, but that didn't worry us too much. 2)The evening entertainment left a bit to be desired, not only that but it was presented in the super large entrance hall! No atmosphere and terrible acoustics. Staff very attentive both at reception and at the bar. All spoke English and were very helpful. Would recommend
“Always room for improvement”
Another great stay at this hotel. Some improvements for kids would be better maintenance of the games, an English TV channel [other than Sky news and CNN!] and tiny teen size cocktails [with a commensurate drop in price!]. As Arnie says 'I'll be back'.....
“We will go Back”
It was a pleasure to have choosen this hotel, amd the staff were wonderful.
“Great Experience”
Beautiful location, well-maintained hotel, beautiful view, great experience at Costa Adeje. Beach is a few mins walk downhill from the hotel in a nice area with stores and restaurants. View from hotel room overlooking pools is amazing. Hotel is kid-friendly as well with nice kid pool, many toys, games, a play area, and a good amount of space around the pools so everyone's not stepping on one-another. Would definitely visit again. About 20-25 mins from TFS airport.
“Great holiday”
Stayed for a week B&B in March 2010. Taxi from airport to hotel was @~ 27 Euro and takes less than 15 minutes. The hotel is spacious and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has four pools including one on the roof-top. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and very good – fresh fruit, cereals, eggs (including omelette made with your choice of ham, mushroom, tomato and cheese), hot & cold cooked meats, smoked salmon, breads, cheese, pastries, tea coffee juice and sparkling wine. They also serve chips and bizarrely on several mornings Brussels sprouts. We ate in the buffet one evening – 22 Euro if you are on B&B. It can be very busy and a bit congested. Catering for so many people emphasises quantity over quality. It is not that the food is bad, just do not expect anything special. We ate twice in the hotel’s a la carte restaurant La Laja and felt it offered much better value and experience. The menu is small, prices are as good as in the buffet (eg starters ~ 6-8 Euro, most mains ~ 8-10 Euro, desserts ~ 4-5 Euro) and there are complimentary Hors d'œuvres. There are many restaurants within walking distance outside the hotel. We had a great meal in The Hacienda which is overlooking the near-by Playa Del Duque beach. There is evening entertainment in the spacious hotel lobby – generally singers with pre-recorded backing tracks. The flamenco show was the most enjoyable. The trip to Mount Teide is great. Overall – good value for money.
“Amazing Hotel! Highly recommended”
Lovely hotel, lobby was really impressive on arrival and we were very pleased with our room (3 girls sharing). We had a balcony with a pool view and could also see the sea. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We were breakfast only and the buffet was fab - lots of choice and all very good. We loved the fact that you couldn't reserve sunbeds and witnessed the attendants removing peoples towels and possessions. It was great cos there were always sunbeds available. Pretty area and shops and beach were just a 5 minute walk (down a hill so not so good on the way back up). I would highly recommend this hotel and would return.
