"We had a wonderful time staying at the Caruso, A Belmond Hotel in Ravello. We were greeted by friendly and warmhearted staffs. We got free upgrade to a suite with balcony viewing of the sea and surrounded with purple wisterias. The suite was spacious and prepared the welcoming champagne and fresh fruits. The hotel had stunning views every corner and the service was impeccable. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the complementary sunset boating tour due to the weather. "

Be aware, however, that the hotel is up a sweep winding hill (nearly impossible to walk), so you need the hotel shuttle or a taxi (expect 20E to Sorrento) to get out. "Things to note about the property, which are probably common to most of the hotels in Positano: 1) Parking is expensive 2) There are a lot of steps everywhere. Do not go unless you are prepared for them. 3) They also will charge to carry your bags to and from your rooms. We were quoted 10 euros, but I negotiated down to 5. Otherwise, everything was great. "

"Excellent stay in Positano. Up near the top of the hill so a bit out of the heavy tourist area. But a relatively easy walk back up the road from the beach. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great! We stayed in a family room which was plenty big enough for the four of us. Lovely balcony as well."
