the personnel were very friendly, the room was clean .. the pool area was well kept. the hotel is in a quiet area ..there are several stores and restaurants within walking distances. THE MANAGER CAME OUT AND INTRODUCED HIMSELF TO US ..he made us feel right at home. i recommend this hotel to my friends..

Have been staying at the Econo Lodge for four years now and it is the best place I have stayed at! Great service, very nice people, and very clean! Would recommend it to everyone! Can't wait to go back!

“Great place to stay!”

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The decor in the rooms was very colorful and nice, and the sheets were very fresh and soft. Its very convenient to Tuscaloosa, because it is only three miles to downtown and to Bryant-Denny Stadium, along with the University. I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

“WILL GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN!!”

THIS HOTEL WAS VERY NICE STARTING WITH THE FRONT DESK DOWN TO THE HOUSEKEEPERS ALL VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. THIS HOTEL IS ONLY ABOUT 3 TO 4 MILES FROM DOWN TOWN TUSCALOOSA AND UA. COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS ABOUT IT WAS THERE ARE FAST FOOD PLACES, SOME STORES, AND A BANK ALL WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE. ALSO THERE ARE TWO PIZZA PLACE AND A SUB SHOP THAT WILL DELIVER TO YOUR ROOM. THE ROOM WAS NICE, PRETTY DECOR AND SHEETS WERE SOFT AND CLEAN. I ENJOYED MY STAY.

“My Home away from home”

We arrived late on Friday night and got the last room, which was a smoking room but Becky , from the front desk ,gave us air freshener and fabreeze for the fabrics and that worked great, we were moved the next morning. Becky was so helpful and took my reservations through December so I have a place I feel safe and a great location as far as dining/drug stores/grocery stores/shopping and just 2 miles from U of A campus. Nothing fancy but it is clean and comfortable and Jack, the GM, was also very nice and I will have the same room each time I go to see my daughter throughout her time at U of A. If you want fancy, this isn't the place. If you want affordable, clean, comfortable, safe and GREAT location give Jack a call.

“Was Impressed with Staff”

The Manager and Assistant Manager went overboard to assist us in any way they could. The Housekeeping staff was courteous and the rooms clean. The rooms appeared to have been redecorated recently including a flat screen T.V. The beds were clean and comfortable and appeared to have fairly new springs and mattress. Overall, I would use this particular hotel again.

“Good visit.”

The check in was fast. The room was clean and comfy, but a tad bit worn. We only had three towels for 4 people. Breakfast was more varied than I expected with toast, cereal, muffins, coffee, juice, fruit punch and milk. Overall, good stay.

The room was clean, the staff helpful and friendly. Overall, a good value for the price. I would choose to stay in this hotel again.

“Decent, safe and affordable for those on a budget.”

We were looking for an inexpensive hotel for a night while in Tuscaloosa for the air show. The Econo Lodge fit the bill for what we needed. The exterior looked to have recently been painted and is now updated to red and tan. The bathroom and plumbing fixtures are dated, but they work. The lady at the reception desk informed me that the pool is not in service because of a new mandate which requires it to be accessible to disabled patrons. She said that due to the expense of such an upgrade, the pool may not be opened again for use. She made it sound as if it was still under review, but as of now, the pool cannot be used. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel because we had chosen to visit IHOP a few minutes down the road. Overall, the hotel is a decent place to stay on a budget and the area didn't seem bad and was well lit. I'd stay there again if needed..

Good for the price. There was smell of smoke. Fairly clean, neat and spacious.
