"I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks. The decor is faded but it fits with the history of the building. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable, the shower is hot. The staff have been attentive and pleasant. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is clean and comfortable but without the flash and expense of new decor and fancy furnishings, I cannot recommend this hotel enough."

"This property is located in an ideal area where everything is just about walking distance. You will find countless shopping, dining and more within 5 to 10 minutes away. The hotel is a bit older and could use a "makeover" but the facilities are pretty decent. I just wish the breakfast room was open later to at least 10 AM every morning."

"It’s an old building but very well maintained and clean. Rooms were modernly designed and up to date. The staff are very accommodating and helpful with our queries. Walkable to the mall, cable car, bus stop and china town which we enjoyed the most. Will definitely book again once we come back to SFO."

"Fantastic breakfast with lots of different types of yummy pastries. We stayed two nights, went to Yosemite for a night, then returned for another night at Grant Hotel. The staff were happy to hold our luggage for us (chained to a post in the reception area) while we were at Yosemite which was very handy, and it was also just a 5 minute walk to our tour bus departure point. The rooms were lovely and location was good."
