"A little challenging to get to but once you’re there you understand why. Really beautiful location. Tough to get food at night because most of the restaurants cater only to the daytime tourists which was tough and the ferry only runs so late so you can’t get dinner late and head back. Would suggest two nights at most and hotel should be a bit more proactive about suggesting offsite food options. Staff was nice when we got there and accommodating. Loved the daytime adventures. "Beach and area around the hotel was poorly maintained and damaged. Could not walk on beach due to heavy accumupation of debris. Beach front surfaces were hazardous"

"Staying at Kawaguchi was a wonderful experience. The innkeeper lady was very helpful in explaining everything and pointing us to good restaurants and giving general directions around the town. The room was surprisingly large with additional space for two in the loft. Tea and cookies provided in the room. Kimonos to wear around were a nice touch. We enjoyed the ofuro (onsen bath)."

"Nice traditional Japanese hotel, with super friendly and helpful staff. Located in the heart of town, a lot of nice small restaurants around, but not noisy at all inside the hotel. Area is well connected to tram and the main station. The Japanese breakfast (there is a choice between western and japanese breakfast) is great!"

"The room here was my favourite out of the 5 different hotels I stayed at in Japan. Great space for a large family travelling together. It was so nice to have a washer/dryer in our room. Only downside was not having someone at the front desk to check us in upon arrival. Someone did come once we sent in a request however "
