Authentic Ryokans In Kyoto

"Good place overall, onsen was a plus, although it doesn't seem to be a traditional "ryokan"."

"Great Ryokan!"

"Absolutely wonderful stay at this Ryokan. The staff were so friendly, kind and informative. They showed us around the facility and made sure we had everything we needed. They have the best breakfast and tea. I love the private bath options and the quaint library and Japanese garden. Highly recommend this gem of a place and hope to return again in the future."

"The food and the hot bath were AMAZING. The room was beautiful too. Would be nice they were a little more understanding with scheduling issues, but overall very good✨"

"The breakfast was amazing."

"The staff was very helpful. The place is closer to the woods, but still in a residential area. It was a pleasant experience."

"Lovely property with fantastic staff and excellent breakfast!"

"That’s a Ryokan with all the associated Japanese experience. The only somewhat negative is location - not close to any local dining or public transportation (a free shuttle in the morning helps though)."

"Right across from the Kyoto main train station. And a real ryokan! The staff were so polite and respectful and helpful. Of course for westerners was a bit uncomfortable sleeping on the floor on futons but something you have to try for Japan! This hotel has an old world charm and the attentions at breakfast made us feel very welcome and special"

"Very lovely traditional Japanese hotel and delicious traditional Japanese breakfast:)"

"Lovely building with helpful, friendly staff; rooms were clean and amenities were great. Location excellent as it was close to shopping and local attractions."

"Half-board food was amazing. We stayed 3 nights and it was different every day."
