The location of the hotel is amazing, right next to a very popular photography spot in Gion. Because of this, expect some noises as there are always photographers outside around the clock. Washer dryer is really convenient. The rooms are very well maintained. Short walk to many stores and shops in Gion. "

"This Kyoto hostel completely overturned my impression of local accommodations being typically cramped. Very clean and comfortable. High-quality beddings. The living room was surprisingly spacious—easily accommodating our big group with over ten large suitcases! Located near Fushimi Inari Shrine and Tofukuji Temple, it was very peaceful at night. We had brought thick bedding, worried that Kyoto might be cold, but the rooms were extremely comfortable. "We had an authentic Japanese experience staying here. The location was perfect - the house was on a quiet street while still being very close to the main attractions in the Gion area. The interior was beautiful, clean and well insulated with heated floors and AC in each room. Beds were very comfortable and the upstairs living offered a lovely veiw of the Yasaka Pagoda. The cute garden out the back with the foot bath was the perfect place to unwind and relax after a long day of walking. Overall,...

"Fantastic location within walking distance to the main area of Gion and streets of cherry blossoms without the crowd.
The room is so spacious and great for families with a baby or toddler. Our baby was able to play in the tatami room. A cot and high chair was also provided to us free of charge.
The kitchenette and washing machine / dryer enabled us to feed our baby and do our washing too without any stress.
The hotel is approximately 10 minutes from Kyoto Station and a taxi ride should not...

"Staff was super helpful, location was great, close to a lot of shops and restaurants, if I came back to Kyoto, I would definitely consider staying here again."
"The room was clean and the room amenities, such as razor, slippers, ear buds, hair ties, etc were plenty and ready, but it would have been nice to have some lotion as well. Did not get to use the pajamas, but I will try at ourr next APA hotel. My main issue with this property is that the room was quite small for the king sized bed and the bathroom was the smallest I've seen in Japan so far."
"There was really no storage room for our suitcases, but the room was clean. The washers and dryers though were abysmal. They washed the clothes, but after putting them through dry cycles three or four times, the clothes still were not dry. We had to walk down the street to a laundromat to finish them up."
"This was my first trip to Kyoto with my family (4 adults). We wanted a hotel that was close to Kyoto Station and JR WEST GROUP VIA INN PRIME KYOTOEKI HACHIJOGUCHI was the perfect place. This location provided us with a wide selection of restaurants and shops. There is also a large shopping mall located at the Kyoto Station and another shopping mall just a few blocks away. There was also a 7-11 located next door which guests have access through the hotel lobby. So convenient!
We reserved two rooms, hoping that our rooms would be fairly close to each other. Thankfully, the rooms were on the same floor, but at different ends of the hallway. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a small refrigerator and large shower. However, counter space in the bathrooms were limited. We were able to get many of the toiletries in the lobby, such as toothbrushes, body lotion, facial masks, etc, which was very nice. We enjoyed the fresh towels that were delivered to our door each day, even though we did not need housekeeping service. The staff is very nice and helpful, however check-in was a bit confusing. Although we had a reservation for two rooms, we had to check in to each room separately via a kiosk, even though the rooms were under the same name. Check out had the same procedure. The staff was available to help, however it would have been nice to have the staff check us in and out at the front desk. Overall, Via Inn was a very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
"Hotel was a lovely traditional style. Double room was large and well maintained.
Private hotsprings were easy to book. Free drinks and snacks available throughout stay.
Located next to JR Station on the line headed to arashiyama. Good stop over point. Nice to relax in the onsen after a long day's walk."
