Its location on a quiet side street means that you won’t be bothered by the hellish nightmare of over tourism that Kyoto endures. The rooms are stylish and smart. The bathroom set up may seem jarring to some at first, but it actually is quite tasteful and clearly a design feature and not some sort of workaround. The spa is peaceful and elegant. The staff is excellent and attentive by even the highest standards. This is truly a low key beauty of a hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who isn’t looking for a large resort style or business hotel experience. "

"We chose a room option with beds instead of the futons, though the futons actually looked comfy! We did the included breakfast and it was delicious. The property was beautiful and clean and centrally located to all the Gion sights. I would definitely recommend it. "

"Hotel was comfortable and clean in a great location. The only thing is that the bathroom is very small, with barely any space to move around and space for storing your toileteries. Also staff could be a bit more accommodating considering we arrived at 2.20pm with a small baby and they made us wait until 3pm for check in in the reception area. "
