"Walk uphill at end of day after sailing was a grind. Self imposed as the hotel offered shuttles at various times. Could not have been more helpful but you have to be prepared for very Japanese experience. Try the restaurant in the hotel. Not well advertised but very attentive waiter. "

Easily accessible by train from Nagoya city centre, however the train station has one bus (and no taxi stand) to the resort every couple of hours so organise ahead. "This was by far my favorite place in all of Japan. The hotel is lovely and located near the ocean. Our view was absolutely stunning. The staff was warm and accommodating (even helped us order a pizza!!). The Futon mats were memory foam and more comfortable than most western beds. The tatami mats and the paper walls that separated the sitting area from the sleeping area created an authentic Japanese vibe. The fee was affordable, but the quality was luxury!!"

"This is a hidden gem that I literally stumbled upon. This area is famous for agriculture so the food was sourced locally and amazing. The staff is international so even if you don't speak much Japanese you will be fine. It is peaceful and fun to walk around the area. We even met a young tomato and melon farmer who showed us his greenhouse. It was like staying in a ancient Japanese palace in a very local village.
