“Very good overall experience”
Burdigala is a clean hotel with a warm, helpful staff in a modern commercial section of Bordeaux. Front desk staff were very helpful with winery suggestions and reservations. Only slight negative was that the hotel feels a bit sterile. Location is in a modern (cold-feeling) commercial area, but is only a 10 minute walk from Old Town.
“Great value and service”
The Hotel is a short walk to the square - lots of shopping and sidewalk cafes. Hotel staff are very helpful and made our journey to the wineries very easy.
“Convenient Location”
We had stayed at this hotel once before a few years ago. We were very happy with the hotel that time and when we were coming back to Bordeaux we definitely wanted to stay at the same hotel. The location is convenient, the room was very clean and the service was very good.
“Excellent Bordeaux Base of Operations”
The Hotel Burdigala is located within walking distance of the city's best night life, shopping and dining activities. The staff is very helpful and most speak fluent English. The front desk was very helpful is arranging a driver for trips to the wine country (Hint: Don't miss St. Emilion), at a cost of roughly 80 Euros per person for half a day. The hotel also has a pleasant bar area and a friendly bar tender pouring local wines. We didn't try the on-site restaurants. Our only complaint was that there was some confusion about the "complimentary access to health club facilities" promised in our Expedia booking. There is a modest gym located 3-4 blocks away which contained treadmills, rowers and stairmasters - no weight equipment. The hotel is allowed to send only one guest at a time to the gym, with a card furnished by the front desk required. Not a good system for groups, or even a husband and wife. There were some hints that this will soon be converted to a service with a fee associated with it.
“Good standard hotel”
Location was convenient, 10 mns walk from main shopping area. Rooms were very small and decoration a bit dated. However, the service was so good that I would recommend this hotel.
“Pleasent Stay”
Wonderfull service. Great restraunt. Bar tender was pretty young and did not know how to make drinks not listed in the menu. Front desk staff were very helpful and spoke english, which is great since my French is not very good. Room was clean but a little cramped due to too many chairs in the room. Located a short walk from the old section of town and the pedestrian streets. Is a 20 Euro cab ride from the TGV train station. Had internet in the lobby so you could check your email. Two blocks from a tram line which with one connection got you to the train station, great for day trips to the wineries in the country side. When we go back, we will stay there, no problem.
“Good place to stay for business”
I have stayed here before and it is a well run hotel - efficient professional staff, valet parking, internet, comfortable clean rooms, plush towels, all of the things that make a business stay work well. Little wine bar and a good new restaurant right around the corner are nice newish additions to the neighborhood.

“Good location”
Hotel in good location. Only problem is there is to much furniture in the room
“Staying in Bordeaux”
The Hotel is a 4 star hotel but don't expect the same sort of service you would get from a 4 star hotel in Paris. Its a nice hotel considering where you are and I don't think there are that many 4 stars in the area. The building is a nice building but the service could have been better.

Bordeaux, France: Once known as La Belle Au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty), Bordeauxs graceful neo-classical buildings have been restored, the leafy boulevards pedestrianised and the city of vintage wine is now wide awake. Picturesquely set on the banks of the River Garonne, this lively university city has pretty parks and squares, impressive museums, buzzing cafés and chic shops, not to mention a plethora of gourmet restaurants to accompany the fine wines.
