“What a view and I will be back”
On arrival the hotel is stunning with wonderful views from the terrace overlooking the thames. The rooms are well proportioned with good standard of decoration. This would be a great hotel for anyone who wants a relaxibng break. The Spa is also very good with a good size pool and plenty of grass area to walk or just lie about. The only slight issue would be the orangery? resturant which was not up top the standard of the rest of the hotel. The staff all young were not as attentive as they could have been. The main resturant closes on Sunday and Monday so be aware of this when booking. In all a great place to spend a relaxing weekend break and we will be back.
“Great hotel”
Great hotel, excellent service and food. Only downside is that children under 7 are not allowe in the pool.
“We love this Hotel”
We stayed before approx 3 years ago and they made the effort to 'welcome' us back. It's a very grand hotel with grounds to match. The Orangery restaurant is very pleasant but we found the Oak Room food a bit wacky and minimal but we still enjoyed the experience! The staff make you feel very special and your stay feels important to them. Our room was fab with gorgeous views over the Thames with access to a terrace. There were no kids running around which was great! Nearby Henley and Marlow are a delight.
“Danesfield House”
A wonderful hotel with the best staff I have experienced. The only minor moan is no tea making facilities in the room
“One of the best.....”
This former mansion has been renovated to a very warm, welcoming hotel and spa with lots of character and beautiful views of gardens and the Thames River. The staff made me feel like I was the only guest who mattered! Danesfield House was extremely relaxing with central London only a 30 minute train ride away. I would highly recommend this hotel experience as it offers the best of both worlds...true relaxation and the close proximity to bustling London.
“Wonderful”
We had a wonderful time at Danesfield House. The service we received by the staff was excellent.. We can not fault anything about our visit.
“Danesfield House Hotel - Perfect in every way”
I did not know what to expect, but our stay was just perfect in everyday, service, facilities, staff, food, grounds and the beautiful hotel and room.
“Stunning grounds with fabulous views. Super spa. Will return for relaxation weekend.”
Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Friendly staff. Professional service. Quality accommodation. Superb food. Delightful location. No complaints. Would happily return.
“Good Country House Hotel”
Location great for exploring Bray, Henley, Marlow and the surrounding countryside. Nice grounds, and our room had a spectacular view over the well manicured gardens, with the Thames winding along in the background. Room was very comfortable, toilet plumbing lacking a bit of pressure. Only problem in the room was the constant hum of the extractor fan from the next rooms en-suite ( I think ). Breakfast on day one was delicious, well stocked, with plenty of staff around. Day two was a different story. No blueberries/birchermuesli or cold meats. Two members of staff said they would rectify, one I never saw again, the second told me it was because they had a conference in and it was busy.... not really my problem. Strawberries appeared, but no meats, plus the birchermuesli obviously could not be made in time. Quite disappointed the conference appeared to take priority over regular guests. Having said all that, all the staff were superb, front desk very helpful and attentive. Ate lunch on friday at Adam Simmonds. This was cooking of the highest quality and I would recommend anyone interested in modern cooking to eat here. Tasting menu looked good, A la carte was excellent. The pork dish I had was possibly the best meat dish I`ve eaten. A little stronger management presence at breakfast and this would be a 5/5 from me.
“Beautiful grounds, poor service and maintenance”
Beautiful setting but poor service at restaurant, TV didn't work, rooms cleaned late in afternoon. Used to be much better.
