“enjoyable stay”
we stayed a week and were impresses with the attitude of the staff who were friendly and efficient. breakfast was included which was a plus in expensive florence. would definitely go back.
“Nice, small hotel”
Great, friendly staff. Very close the the Accademia bit further from the Duomo but larger rooms because of it. Breakfast good.
“A Nice Find”
The Orto De Medici hotel was a pleasant place to stay and was nicely located near main attractions in Florence. The hotel staff was friendly, and the breakfast that they provide gave me something else to look forward to each morning. The walls to the room, however, were quite thin, so we were able to hear our neighbors when they came in at night, but that is to be expected of older buildings. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and if I ever go to Florence again, I would like to stay at the Orto De Medici.
“European flavor”
I will definitely stay in this hotel again. It has the distinct flavor of a European hotel, but with modern conveniences (i.e.elevator. The hotel's location is off the beaten track which I found to be a positive trait. Many locals are in the bars and trattorie in the neighborhood and some of the best panino/pizza lunch places are 5-10 feet from the hotel entrance. The hotel breakfast is the best I had anywhere in 3 weeks of travel, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very spacious. The front desk folks provided concierge services including obtaining reservations for the Uffizi, the Accademia, and the Bobuli Gardens (for a fee)-- the reservations saved us from waiting in the long lines at the local attractions. If you are lucky, Francesco will be on the desk the day you arrive. He was the best of the front desk personnel and made our stay in this hotel memorable and positive.
“Great convenient hotel”
The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The outside is unpreposessing but inside is spacious and impressive. Our room was large, marble floored and spotless. The bed was two singles into one double so not quite as comfortable as a complete mattress but no problem. Sheets and blankets were provided where I might have preferred a duvet at this time of year. The bathroom was huge and well equipped with bath and separate shower. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful and the staff were charming and helpful. we had an upgrade to a garden facing room so I cant comment on the standard rooms. Very well located near the smaller restaurants and not far from the sights.
“Visit to Toscana region”
We like this hotel very much. It's very beautiful. It's situated in the center of Florence. It was possible to go everywhere in 10 minutes. The personal of the hotel was very provident.
“Excellent hotel; good value for money”
The hotel staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The building itself is typical of the beautiful area, with stone steps leading to a luxurious living room, conference room and a breakfast room with typical Italian style. The room was spacious with a generously sized bed, plenty of storage room, a flat screen tv and a luxury bathroom typical of a much more expensive hotel.
“Superb location, characterful and welcoming”
Ideally placed for all the major sites and an amazing array of restaurants, full of character and with some of the friendliest and most helpful staff we have ever encountered. Our room was large and well equipped with a peaceful view over the gardens and the buffet breakfasts were more than adequate; all at a remarkably reasonable price Our sole regret was that we were only staying for four nights.
“Fabulous Florence”
The hotel was beautiful as well as the staff. The breakfast that was offered was delicious! We were upgraded to a balcony room for a nominal fee and it was worth it - Thanks to the staff of Orto De Medici - Arrivadela!
“good value for money”
Excellent central hotel, clean and very comfortable. Very good choice for Florence sightseeing!
