"The Big Island Retreat is a lovely property located minutes on foot to one of the best snorkeling beaches on Big Island. We stayed in the Ocean view room which was over 2 floors. The view from the bedroom is lovely. The rooms are quite small with little storage. The bed was only a double and very high off the floor making getting into it really hard. The bathroom is not totally enclosed and has no basin as the kitchen sink is just outside. Although there was nobody staying in the rooms...

"This resort was relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again if I had the opportunity. The only reason that I did not give it a perfect review was due to the really weird design of the window in the bedroom. It was a corner window that faced into the outdoor entrance to the condo. We always had to keep the blackout curtains tightly shut. Now, the patio on the other side facing the pool and the ocean made up for it. This is where we spent our time when we were in the condo. "A decent resory hotel with full services. "

"The property was advertising ocean view room however they were under renovation. They did give us refund back but was disappointed. The AC wasnt working properly for couple of nights because of renovatjons. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was awesome with good variety of options. Location is really good as downtown kona and shopping areas are walkable. Parking is affordable and de ent. Overall a good hotel and would love to stay there once again. "

"Good location, lot of restaurants and bars in walking distance. The only thing to complain is there is no sand beach nearby, we have to drive to the beaches. "

I found it strange that the host came by an knocked on the door an hour after we arrived (I had to jump out the shower to answer) and then asked me 5 times to let her know when we planned on leaving via text and with a note even tho the listing said checkout is at 10 am. Was a bit overwhelming and unnecessary. "
