"Excellent property, and wonderful, helpful staff. We had an ocean front room, which was amazing. The pool is great for kids and adults alike. The property is also located a little away from the busy part of Ali’i drive, which makes it great to relax at the end of the day after a day full of activities but is conveniently located near beaches and grocery/convenient stores. I highly recommend the property to anyone planning a trip to Kona."

"This is an extraordinary place, beautifully nestled at the top of a narrow tree-lined road, designed to blend into the landscape. It's high, and the view of the sea is grand. Well appointed, with a salt-water pool and very nice communal areas. We stayed only one night, a stopover between Kona airport and the drive to Hilo. We left thinking we would like to stay again, perhaps stay two nights. Lovely hosts. "

I found it strange that the host came by an knocked on the door an hour after we arrived (I had to jump out the shower to answer) and then asked me 5 times to let her know when we planned on leaving via text and with a note even tho the listing said checkout is at 10 am. Was a bit overwhelming and unnecessary. "

"This was our second time staying at the Kona Castle Reef . This oceanfront unit was comfortable, tidy and an excellent layout. Some of the lighting fixtures seemed dated and Could use replacement . Having the bbq’s there as an alternative cooking option was fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again next year and hopefully secure the same unit as we did this time ."
