“Salo”
Salo was a most beautifull place to visit, I have stopped in many Italian villages and loved them all but Salo is so relaxing and unspoilt it's lovely. The hotel was perfect, all the staff were lovely and really helpful. Its relaxing and very quiet so if your looking for night life this is not the place for you. If your looking for a well deserved rest then this place is perfect!
“Great Hotel in Salo, will be back next year.”
We have just returned from a delightful short spring break in Salo. We have done this on several occasions over the last few years but this is the first time we have stayed at the Hotel Salo' du Parc. It has a great location. Our very spacious balcony looked out over a beautiful garden to a breathtaking view of lake Garda. It was just on the edge of the medieval centre of Salo which meant we were outside the complicated one-way system. Parking was no problem but we were there off-season. The Hotel itself was a bit dated but more retro than shabby. The room was fine, quite spacious compared to many Italian hotels. The bed was OK, a bit firm for us but can't really complain. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment but had all the basics. There are plenty of great cafes in Salo so you wont have to look far for a good, inexpensive breakfast. Salo itself is a jewel and by far the best resort on this side of Lake Garda. Plenty of great shops and restaurants and in season there are ferries to all the other resorts. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort and this hotel. We are already planning our next break there in Spring 2011.
“Great location, great view”
The grounds and facilities are excellent. Close to town and other scenic locations. The area is quiet but the town is lively. The cove at Salo is one of the most beautiful locations on Lake Garda.
“A hotel with a garden”
Hotel Salo du Parc is appropriately named. A park extends from the hotel to Lake Garda. The park is lush and interesting. Swim in the pool or in Lake Garda The view of the lake is exceptional. The balcony well placed for the view. The rooms need are good but a slight bit more interior lighting required. European flat pillows mean bring your own pillows. The hotel staff from front desk, maids, and dining are generous. Parking seems limited, but, not a problem for us in June. Walk to the central town and the ferry (for cruise to other Lake Garda towns) in short and pleasant. Dine at a trattoria, La Campagnola (a park itself) down the street from the hotel. I believe you will enjoy the hotel, the town, people and the trattoria with home grown vegetables. Salo seems to be the most gracious town in presenting the lake to visitors.
“Dont hesitate to go to Hotel Salo' Du Parc - Salo - Lake Garda”
Excelent hotel - and the staff are so pleasant and helpful. One of the most relaxing holidays we have had. Everything was perfect. Will definitely go back. Robin & Debra
“Hotel Salo Du Parc - July 2008”
The hotel itself was outstanding and the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. We stayed on a B&B basis and we were always welcomed warmly for breakfast. Our room was cleaned daily and we had clean towels daily. Salo itself is a lovely town with plenty of places to eat and drink on the lake front. My only issue was parking, or lack of parking, at the hotel. We arrived on a Saturday morning and weren't lucky enough to get a free parking space at the hotel (there are only about 10), so the reception staff advised us to use the multi-story carpark opposite. Unforunately, that was full also, as Saturday is Salo Market Day. As our Italian is very limited, the receptionist came over with us to the carpark to ask for a carpark reservation for the duration of our stay. This was at a cost of 8 euros per day, and there was no guarantee that a space would be available when we returned after a day out! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return to Lake Garda, which is beautiful.
“Hotel Salo du Parc”
Extremely convenient and well locatated. The hotel is very comfortable and the lake views fantastic. The bed actually faces the alke so you great great morning views. The decor is slightly tired with heavy wood panels but the service super and the pool a real bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. It is in a great position to walk into the town and Salo is lovely. Loads of restaurants and cafes and feels slightly upmarket to some of the other towns. I would go again.
“Satisfied”
The views from our balcony were fantastic. All staff were very accomodating and informative. The breakfast was adequate. We did have dinner one evening which was not up to the standards one would of expected from a 4* hotel. The hotel needs some refurbishment, especially in the ensuite toilets. Hotel grounds and swimming pool very good. (lots of space). The outside seating area was very comfortable. Overall an enjoyable experiance.
“Great position on the lake”
A modern hotel situated next to the lake( just 5 minutes walk from the ferry and town centre) with a lovely swimming pool and sun area. The rooms are very large and well equipped with a balcony overlooking the lake. The meals are a bit dull with no fresh fruit at breakfast and the dinners are adequate though a little unadventurous, after all this is Italy and I expected a little more. There was a lack of atmosphere in the dining room and some music would help.
“!”
The hotel has two sections. An updated section and another which needs a facelift! the hotel was clean but very simple. It has a fantastic view of the lake and this makes it special. The food is average and breakfast is simple. All drinks are shockingly overpriced!

Salo, Italy: Set in a picturesque bay, elegant Salò is the most attractive west shore resort. Its lakeside piazza, arcaded town hall and early 20th-century buildings give it a distinguished, slightly old-fashioned air. Close by, Il Vittoriale is the lakes most intriguing attraction. Built in the 1930s by writer Gabriele dAnnunzio, this Art Nouveau villa combines military museum, library, war memorial and mausoleum, with more than a touch of kitsch.
