"Nice hotel away from 'The Strip' chaos. "
My boyfriend and I talked about this on our flight home. If we had to rate this hotel out of 10, we both said a solid 7-7.5..... If we had children then it would be a 10. The hotel is very pretty and the views are amazing, just not a lot of activities for adults in the evenings. Which I guess if you stayed on the strip you would have the nightlife. But I feel they should have a sports bar or keep the pool bar open for late night for the adults, everything closes early. The hotel really catered to families, so if you have kids it's great place, the staff played games with them and had contests really kept them entertained. The pools are great and lots of seating and loungers. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would probably stay again with some minor tweaking. Definitely need a rental car. It's about $60 for cab ride to/from airport. And would stop at store to pick up snacks.

"Relaxation after the Vegas Strip"
My husband and I came to Vegas to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We spent our first night on the strip and then three very relaxing days here. When we arrived, Amanda checked us into the hotel. She was very thorough with information about the hotel and helped find us a room with an amazing view. And, she even called our room and check-in to see if we were happy and to wished us a good stay. (Great customer service). We enjoyed the amenities of the hotel, such as the spa (we both had one of our best massages ever!), the pool area was very nice and we absolutely loved Kirk the bartender! He remembered us and made us feel special and our room service was very prompt . They play music on Saturday nights and we got lucky, because it was country and it was super fun listen to music on the grass courtyard. Also enjoyed our gondola ride at the marina. We would definitely come back to visit if we ever have the chance.

"nice hotel on the lake"
Our first 2 days weren't good as our room supposedly had plumbing problems so they had to split up our family and check us into 2 studio units instead of the 2 bedroom lakeside view with living room, etc. So it was tough to get settled and unwind. They comped our daily resort fee for the mess, but I really should have pressed them to have more comped as we were paying for much more than we ended up with. And we had to move our own bags from their unit across the lake to the Viera, which was a major hassle of loading it onto luggage carts, packing our car, then unloading back onto luggage carts and carting to the room. Once we were in the correct room it got much better. The rooms are a bit dated, but overall clean. We didn't eat at the dining onsite as it seemed pricey for a family with 4 kids and the menus weren't geared for kids--aside from their onsite pizza place, which we didn't try because the pizza by the slice looked like it had been sitting for quite a while with no visitors. We instead went out for Cheesecake Factory, pizza, and a buffet at Green Valley Ranch (all about 20 min drive each). We ate breakfasts and lunch in the room. We ended up enjoying ourselves at the pool and watching some wakeboarding competitions on the lake. We would come back because we like that it was a low key resort away from the strip with great scenery and landscaping.

Pocket Guide: Lake Las Vegas, Las Vegas Golf Hotels

Like The Strip’s glitz and the glamour, the 320-acre Lake Las Vegas is wholly man-made. Upscale, Mediterranean-style casinos, golf resorts, and private villas ring the water’s edge. Although large, Lake Las Vegas is a mere puddle compared to another nearby man-made lake: Lake Mead. Covering 247 square miles, Lake Mead is held in place by the Hoover Dam, a tourist attraction in its own right.
