“Good Value For Money”
This proved to be a good choice for the money spent. It is very close (short walking distance) to the train station and literally in the middle of everything...shopping, restaurants, pubs and pastry shops. You don't need transport to move around. The fumes from the restaurant downstairs can be a turn-off, especially when they have plenty clients. It wasn't so much a problem in the day as we were out most of the time but in the evening during dinner it could be a problem. You don't get wireless internet in all the rooms but you can get a signal close to the elevator. There is a table and chairs on each floor and there is a power outlet as well, so I was able to use my laptop. Otherwise our experience was fantastic
“Great Location”
The location of this hotel in the old town area was why we stayed here and we were not disappointed. That said, most hotels in Switzerland include breakfast, this one did not, but we knew that ahead of time. The price is a little high fo rthis hotel, but the location was great.
“Great Deal in Expensive Lucern!!!”
You get what you pay for, but considering that I only needed a place to sleep overnight and this hotel was located near the water in the old town and over 50% less than other hotels, I thought it was a bargain. Nothing fancy and small but clean and functional. I would stay again.
“Not the classiest, but would stay there again.”
Hotel Falken is excellently located a 5 mintues walk from the train station and is a good budget choice for travelers. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. My only complaint was that the hallways of the hotel were cluttered with furniture and renovation materials. Also, the hotel is on top of a Chinese restraunt so theres an odor in the reception area. However, you do get discounts at the restraunt and an excellent fondue place down the road.
“Great location...but with issues...”
Extremely small bathroom, old and a bit run down, staff not always available, but the price and the location were well worth it for us. If you are not a picky traveler you will be happy with this hotel.
“Good value”
The good: excellent price & location, with well-furnished and clean rooms. The bad: lack of air conditioning made my late spring visit uncomfortably hot during the evening and at night.
“Good location but tiny rooms”
This hotel is in the Luzern city centre 5 minutes from the train station making it a very convenient location. However, it seemed to be very congested. The room was tiny with poor lighting.
“OK location though room was tiny”
The location was great as it is near the shopping streets. However the room was rather too tiny. We were told that we are given the family room which sounds rather privileged for just me and my husband. In fact the room was just fitted with 2 double beds stacked in as a bunk. The room was very small with hardly enough space for 2 people, let alone 4. The shower water was also taking ages to flow down. Nonetheless, the room was very clean. The service at the ground floor was quite reasonable and the staff are relatively friendly. However there is no proper reception with a waiting lobby.
“Never go back again”
The room is urgyly. It looks like no stat hotel. Very small front door. Urgyly funatures.
“Don't bother with the morning buffet!”
I happened to be staying there the night of Michael Jackson's Memorial, which I wanted to watch. At least the 12 Inch TV worked. Wifi, which was promised to us, did not work. We were told to buy the morning buffet the day before for 9 Euros or the price would be 12 Euros in the morning. It consisted of cereal, bread and ... oh yeah...did I say cereal?
