"Everyone is nice, it is a secure location and a good bed. We stayed two nights. The issue is that it is a little far from Lucca and/or any center, so I think they could help guests by putting a bottle of water in the room, and/or having some coffee/tea (they provided coffee pods for the first day only. "Difficult to find, as only the name of the adjacent hotel, San Ruffino Resort, appears on the sign at the shared driveway. Room decor is in serious need of an upgrade (weird 70’s vibe and a lot of dangling wires) and the kitchenette and bathroom are rudimentary. Landscaping is dreary. Breakfast was basic and seemed like most items came from a supermarket. Helpful and friendly staff and the San Ruffino rResort pool (which Il Poggia guests can use) was pleasant, as were the grounds of the Resort."

"10min walk to the nearest train station to get to other areas of italy such as florence and cinque terre. 15min walk to the tower of Pisa. Clean chalet, friendly & helpful staff, shop/cafe/restaurant on site. Kitchen area equipped with basics for cooking, there is no kettle,toaster, oven or microwave - just a 4 ringed gas hob which i feel could be improved more. "Stayed here one night before early flight from Pisa. I wasn't expecting much, but was really happily surprised. The staff were lovely, friendly and smiling every time I had interaction with them. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a lovely view over the rooftops (yes, even the Tower in the distance). It was very quiet in the evening as my room was not facing the street. And the breakfast was amazing! So many options, I was kicking myself for not having enough time to enjoy it properly. Easy walk to town and the Tower and it took me 15 minutes from the hotel to the airport (on the shuttle). Will definitely be back if ever travelling through Pisa again. "
